Thanks Simon. Yes. Just waiting on the mainland for the baby to arrive!
Yes, though I think old Vango and new Vango are quite different beasts.
Well, it was actually just a reference to the review on one of your very old blog posts (from 2011, I think) that I saw. It was an excellent tent 🙂
...tent from aged 11 or so (in the early 2000s) up to c.2015. It had already had some heavy use as a sea kayaking tent before I inherited it, and I used it for about 5 months in South America as well as many shorter trips . It would have been a solid recommendation!
@christownsend.bsky.social - I was looking online for any information related to a tent I own called The Vango Zephyr Solo and found that you recommended it in your 1984 'The Backpacker’s Guide'. I wanted to let you know that, while I do not use it regularly any more, it was my main and only...
Thank you!
Oh, thanks so much Neil. Yes, hopefully she'll be on her way before *too* long.
2/2 Thank you so much to the people who made it possible, particularly those in the Small Isles themselves for hosting us for the research and answering so many questions.

1/2 Nine months pregnant feels like an odd time to start promoting something, but the #Cicerone walking guidebook @writesofways.bsky.social and I wrote for the #SmallIsles has just been published. This little book took a long time to put together and I'm really proud of it.
Oh brilliant. I hope you have an amazing time!
From my wife this morning.
Thank you. I hope it's useful to you. It's a general travel guide rather than hiking specific, but there's a lot of information in there.

Last year I spent a lot of time updating @frommers.com guidebook to #Iceland, which has just come out. Many, many thanks to my Icelandic friends who answered my random questions as they arose - I could not have done it without you.

Thankfully visits from the building inspector are rare in Port Ellen.
Yes, we're building an upwards extension to accommodate my sudden growth spurt.
Oh, thank you Simon. I'm quadruple that size already 😅

I look forward to reading the results of this new and exciting literary direction for you.
Yes, I saw that. I see two options here: you could either buy it and organise the competing championship, or you can buy it and sue rightmove for false advertising - perhaps recouping some of your costs to buy a boat/helicopter.
Being somewhat pedantic, Insh is not the host, although I'm sure it also has plenty of skimmable slate.

The arctic tern flies from Iceland to Antarctica and back every year. It finds its same nesting ground each time. It can become 30 years old so in its lifetime, an arctic tern flies = from the earth to the moon three times. A tern weighs 120 grams, less than a small can of soda.
