Ojamajo Doremi Sharp - Transformations - [ 1080p ]
Ojamajo Doremi Sharp - Transformations - [ 1080p ] YouTube video by Sailor_Art

youtu.be/21JZBcOxTNA I did these too. And now I'm able to have a renowned appreciation for how simple, appealing and full of life these sequences are (all 4 of these have their own distinct personality animation!), whereas back then I was just drawing the show and characters I liked. It's nice!

I also taught myself how to animate by copying the transformations frame by frame in Flipnote as a kid, and this was of course one of them. 16-17 years later I still have some of the individual frames memorized. I owe this show so much! youtu.be/DXwy1Rg8QPc

It's also excellent cartooning, which is of course the biggest priority of them all

I cannot recommend this show enough. It's a commitment (5 seasons, 200 episodes) and very duplicitous--how can this magical girl show that looks like it was made to sell toys be that good?--but it's one of the most special and profound shows I've seen. Hits so much harder as an adult

Been slowly revisiting Ojamajo Doremi over the past few years, which was my first, favorite and very formative anime to my child self. Liked this pose and wanted to honor my 8 year old self by drawing her favorite character

Thank you so much for the wealth of inspiration that is your morgue file!!! At some point I need to block off a dedicated chunk of time and just drool over everything you've posted for it. Love these!!!

β€œKinda” as these are the cleanups of the scene/how it appears in final but DANG. 5 year old Eliza watching endless hours of SpongeBob going β€œI wanna do that” would be so stoked. Nearly-25 year old Eliza is!

Nancy by Ernie Bushmiller.

First panel, Nancy talking to a logger sawing a tree and pointing to a carved piece of trunk.

Nancy: Can I have that piece? My boy friend carved it.
Logger: Sure.

Second panel, Nancy is watching the log burn in the fire place.
Nancy: I'm mad at him.

Every once in awhile I think about this Nancy comic and it makes me laugh every single time. Absolute perfection.

A very prolific artist who was most known for her color styling for Disney! She provided a ton of concept art and color keys for Disney films through the '40s and early '50s, and also designed the art for Disneyland's It's a Small World attraction. She's a huge talent!!

Trying to spend less time scrolling this year and instead reading--gonna read as many animation books as I can, old and new. Been rereading Michael Barrier's Hollywood Cartoons book and falling in love with the craft all over again. Heartily recommend yinz to do the same!

Nabbed this for $5 recently and so worth it! I'm sure nobody on here needs a lesson in how gifted Mary Blair was, but it's a wonderful thing to be reminded of it.

BIG CONGRATS TO YOU!!! It's sooo refreshing to see this kind of cartooning again! Super excited and happy for you, especially considering how long the lead-up has been! Hope you're able to celebrate; huge congrats to you and the crew!! Loved it!
