If, like me, you only have vague memories of 3000 Miles to Graceland trailers selling an βElvis impersonators rob Vegasβ movie, you really owe it to yourself to watch these truly insane opening credits

You, uh. You undersold that one
I only saw the first season but I loved the books! From the outside looking in, it seems the show really latched onto Theon Greyjoy's vibe and just went full torture porn :/ RIP your bbs, you're repping them beautifully
Prancing your emotions in your aggrieved sibling's face is wholesome family content
CONCEPT: you plaster-cast a tank decoration of a life-sized drowned Ophelia whose bones your new darlings can wind in and out of
as long as they're not CRABS
Ah, well. I am the old-fashioned person who has historically walked in and asked for a job, so... Are there any children's programs put on by local universities? Department members are often involved with them (networking!), and they can always use help, I'm sure.
What do we do with duplicates?
The original and duplicate are placed in a Document Arena (or Docudomeβ’), then we turn away from them and allow one to consume the other, unobserved. This is a double-blind trial, where we don't know which was the original. Thus, only the strongest document survives.
MARCH EDITING, DAY 11: FINALLY sorted out the Argument, which means we're basically done with Chapter 17! Which means I have to work on Chapter 18.
At least we've been having some lovely warm days. Maybe I'll just lie outside tomorrow and try another Think.
(The canon setting isn't bad, just unremarkable. And I needed a setting that would be a logical place to end a the short action scene I used as a transition.)
I'd forgotten I actually wrote the whole scene in an entirely different place before changing it to the D&D one. Yikes. That doesn't bode well.
Then I organised my punchlist/outline for editing Chapter 18. Not a whole lot to do after I fix the D&D silliness; reading my outline over, I realised that the REASON I ended up with the D&D silliness in the first place was because I wanted to change a canon setting and didn't know where to put it.
And it isn't thirteen pages long! SHE CAN BE TAUGHT!
The Argument turned out pretty well; it doesn't really sing as dialogue, but it covers all the bases it needs to, and it makes sense now, so I'm leaving it. Maybe my line-editing pass will pretty it up, but I'm not ashamed of it anymore, so we're moving on.
The imaginary fandom will note that some portions of this are carefully polished, and the rest is 'fine' or 'okay' or 'will probably be skimmed through anyway, so who cares?' Look, it's long, okay?
I keep telling myself I'll go back and delete some of the Heroine dishing out nap orders but frankly all the damn convos are built around them, so I might just chuck in a 'haha isn't this a funny running joke and not obnoxiously-repetitive writing?' and call it a day.

Thinking of buying a trashy beach read just to spray this on the endpapers
Actually, if I layered this with one of my gasoline and motor oil scents...
It is, of course, the creamsicle-and-seashell one. I smell like the Jersey shore without the petrol refineries morariperfumes.com/products/sho...
Broke out one of my summer perfumes and, fuck, I forgot how HAPPY this perfume makes me. I slacked off wearing them over winter for medical reasons, so what a dopamine hit to come back to!
Warm days are here, time to crank down the driver's side window and start up the trucker tan
Approaching Timecop levels of 'oh, NO'
It's not that I can't make fun of the thing, it's that their jokes would burrow into my brain and play alongside the film FOREVER
Chief among the 'it might be' reasons is, 'I've already supported the Kickstarter with cold hard cash and wouldn't it be just perfect if I couldn't bring myself to watch 1/4 of the episodes'
I have several good reasons it won't be, and several good reasons it might.
MST3k has refused to release the name of the final film in their new episodes, which means I have several wonderful months to worry it's the one from my fic.
Anyway, here's a bonus editing music link. I LOVE this mix, but the first track especially. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3O4...
