Had Mayday Parker on the mind recently so I did a redesign/illustration and I am very proud of how well it turned out

Since it's Valentine's Day, I thought I'd share my favorite fictional comics couple. Peter Parker (Spider-Man) and Mary Jane "MJ" Watson(-Parker). I like that they prove the power of fandom. They weren't supposed to be a thing, but they became THE iconic pairing because people liked them.

Slott writing this isn't even what bothers me. It's the fact we're doing nostalgia porn for an era we've never actually moved on from. ASM's last two writers have been Zeb Wells and Joe Kelly for god’s sake.

Spider Woman for a change

Spider-Girl (MC2 Universe May 'Mayday' Parker) swings on a webline. She's in her "uncle's" Spider-Man suit, which has the red and blue colour scheme and black webbing but the design is slightly different. The mask and torso are still red, but the spider is much larger and the legs stretch outwards to meet the spider logo on the back. The gloves are blue except for the pinky, forefinger and thumb which are red and webbed. Her webshooters are large silver bracers that sit outside her costume. The boots are divided in colour, with the outermost half being red and webbed while the rest is plain and blue. Her "uncle" refers to Ben Reilly, the clone of Peter Parker (they considered each other brothers after the two came to terms with the whole having/being a clone). He took over as Spider-Man for a time before being killed by the Green Goblin. Peter kept the suit and equipment in the attic, which Mayday used to save her dad.

One of my favourites: May 'Mayday' Parker AKA the Amazing SPIDER-GIRL! I absolutely adore her run (the longest female-lead comic run) & hope one day for an animated show. She's bright, witty, & drives her dad crazy with her heroics!
