Apologies if this offends, but there are people on both sides of the political spectrum, who consider violence an adequate means to their ends, who will be looking at that case, and others, and smiling. I hope, I really hope, that those people are talked out of it.

I agree with you, except in this: in criminal prosecutions, the accused has the presumption of innocence, and it is up to the prosecution to prove it's case. That would, of course, mean putting 'rump on trial, and THAT I fully and completely support. There's plenty of evidence, and witnesses.
