That is the case in NVE ensemble. But in NVT and NPT conditions, the entropy is k log partition function plus something. If you are adding something, indirectly your are adding some information corresponding to microstates that are not covered by partition.
Can anyone explain me this??
Question Statistical Mechanics!
Partion function has the information about what all microstates feasible for a particular condition. So then entropy which is a measure of disordered ness, should be sufficiently explained by the partition function.
