Since we’re all subjected to awareness of the idiocy of Forest Lake grad Pete Hegseth, make sure you’re also following @atrupar.com the smarter, more intelligent graduate of the same school (my alma mater!) so you know not all Rangers are the worst.

Tammy Duckworth was a Black Hawk pilot. I will take her word on what counts as classified information for military pilots over someone whose military experience is that their own national guard unit had him removed from a presidential inauguration over concerns he violently opposed democratic norms.

Under fascism, no one is safe.

Universities stayed quiet as the admin targeted DEI & foreign aid, censored research, etc.

Now, they face devastating cuts to indirect cost rates, threatening research & operations.

Silence won’t protect institutions. It won’t protect people; it never does.

I think countries around the world should levy tariffs specifically on Tesla in response to US tariffs, as well as banning Twitter as a national security threat

We must first accept the situation as it is it we're to find ways to change it. Climate change has come about from the way each of us lives our daily life. If we don't practice forbearance, patience, then we give in to our despair, our anger. And the worst thing that can happen to us is despair. If we're overwhelmed, if we're carried away by despair, anger, violence, there is nothing left; there's no hope. This is why we must practice patience, to bear, to accept. But this isn't a kind of negative, passive acceptance. Because we know that with our understanding, with our love, we can do something. We can always do something to change the situation.

Books bring knowledge and knowledge can empower. The United States history of book bans are nothing new- just history continuing into the present.

In a recent virtual meeting, a presenter insisted everyone has a favorite punctuation mark.

Is this really a thing? Why am I feeling quite partial to the comma right now? 🤓

If I must die,
If I must die
Refaat Alareer
you must live to tell my story to sell my things
to buy a piece of cloth and some strings,
(make it white with a long tail) so that a child, somewhere in Gaza while looking heaven in the eye awaiting his dad who left in a blaze-and bid no one farewell
not even to his flesh not even to himself-
sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up above
and thinks for a moment an angel is there bringing back love
If I must die
let it bring hope let it be a tale

Quote from Greenwire article on Gaetz AG nomination: “Luckily all of our environmental laws are older than 18 years, so Rep. Gaetz shouldn’t have much interest in them,” said Brett Hartl, government affairs director at the Center for Biological Diversity, a frequent litigant in environmental lawsuits.
