Well, Iran’s ambassador to the UK has declared today that Iran is categorically not at war with the UK.
That suggests reality may be a bit more nuanced than the “Starmer is Israel’s Prime Minister” line.
Iraq was an invasion launched on contested legal grounds. Current situation is UK allowing defensive use of bases after Iranian retaliation & threats to UK personnel. Those are different legal frameworks under international law.
Past wars matter but need to analyse each situation on its own facts.

Modern societies are extremely good at broadcasting identity conflicts, but much worse at resolving them. The result is a constant feedback loop where debate itself becomes part of the stressor. Media (in UK anyway) suppresses trans concerns meaning the whole information ecosystem is hostile.

Tension comes from two competing instincts:
