I think not living up to your own stated values is the human condition. We’re all unfinished creatures.
Hypocrisy is posing/fronting—pretending to be something we’re not. There’s some deception intended at some point. I think that’s closer to the Greek, which I’m told literally meant “play actor.”

Grievance — even legitimate grievance — does not exempt us from living out the economy of God.
Grievance is no place to live a life. Grace is.
People say the Bible is only myth and meanness. But then why did slave owners feel the need to censor most of it?
Because it was dangerous to them. Sounds like there might be something worthwhile in its pages after all.

The good, the bad, and the ugly all being in the same book are why I’m (re)drawn to the Bible. I like the arguments happening between the pages. I figure if the Bible argues with itself, I get to argue with it too.

And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.

I took a class on different liberation theologies in college, then another one on specifically Latin American ones in seminary. It’s been my home base ever since.
