If your laptop is from the past decade and you're making something intended for computers like it, you should be fine, even if you're making something 3D. Godot and its editor are very lightweight. Give it a try and see.

Spending this entire year and some change waiting for the other shoe to drop wasn't much fun. Maybe 2026 will be a little more hopeful and a little less horrible.
