Which one
Which one
The ace of spades
I've been talking to Jarrett about this trade and the basic contours of this column for a long time. He definitely did it justice, plus it's great timing with both players in the WBC
thank you!
I know this is going to go on deaf ears on this website but you're not going to win any hearts and minds of anyone who isn't completely poisoned by leftist internet spaces by going "our troops eat too well," you just sound like an asshole
I genuinely canβt remember any middle infielders doing this to this degree
Like nobody remembers this now but Witt was a catastrophically bad shortstop as a rookie and played a bunch of third base also not particularly well. There was βis he a first baseman or corner outfielderβ discourse. He also didnβt really hit much
Rarely wrong sir
Special, special player, on the trajectory to be an inner circle Hall of Famer, one of the best of all time types. Just a true pleasure to watch him play
I was among the higher prospect people on Wittβwe ranked him 1 in a stacked class when that was controversial and that was one I pushed for hardβand I was still like multiple grades low on both his defense and hit tool
He was a four seam/slider bully with your power stuff guy in college and now heβs one of the best pitcher diversification guys Iβve ever seen, itβs genuinely remarkable
itβs wild that Paul Skenes was the no. 1 pick less than three years ago and is now the best RHP on the planet and the no. 1 pick Skenes and the current Skenes bear almost no resemblance to each other as pitchers
it's so good, I cannot resist getting pretzels there even when full from actual food lmao
The people responsible for the former are racists and the people responsible for the latter are terrorists, normal people with normal politics are not involved in either action. Please log off and find grass to touch
βI am against both far-right provocateurs and launching IEDs in the middle of Manhattanβ having to be something that you need to say out loud because both the left and right are lying about it to win internet points is the sign of a completely fucked society btw
Yes thereβs slot mechanics and going wildly under with Baez as a redraft let me go wildly over for Pierce/Petry/Forbes
Petry and Forbes were available at those picks for league mechanics stuff nobody could possibly care about who isnβt in the league and probably wouldβve went in the 2nd or 3rd if not for those, so I should not really get credit for those as smart picks imo
I play in one serious Scoresheet dynasty league and I post my picks every year as accountability. The draft pool is basically 2025 IRL draftees plus guys who wouldnβt have been owned out of last yearβs draft in a league where ~2000 players are owned. (There were financial incentives to Baez at 6)
They started talking about the difference between the UK and Great Britain as political entities and then the broadcast had a long awkward pause
WBC broadcast about to restart The Troubles
Life, death, and Tadej PogaΔar ending a classic with a long range attack before I am out of bed on the east coast of the States
rooting for this Judge guy is fun
Cristopher and Curtis

I'm sure the new Harry album is for someone but it is not for me
I wrote thousands of words about that and other Cristopher SΓ‘nchez and Curtis Mead fun facts (did you know they faced each other in Australian winter ball the year before the trade when they were both anonymous?) for @baseballprospectus.com www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/ar...
that's a good partial flip I didn't think of
This never *really* flipped. It flipped from looking horrible for awhile to nobody really winning. The Mets took on a crazy amount of money for the so-so value they got back in DΓazβs control years, and then re-signed DΓaz to a contract that returned about 60 cents on the dollar
The Phillies were considered the top sabermetric example of horrible trade process for a solid three years over this deal. And it turned out they actually traded a Quad-A utility guy for the second-best left-handed pitcher in baseball, eventually.

Cristopher SΓ‘nchez for Curtis Mead is the only trade I can think of that looked like it was trending as a Fregosi-for-Ryan type deal for *years* one way and is going to end up being a Fregosi-for-Ryan deal *the other way*
