Re today’s Hennepin Cty Lyndale Ave botch (they cut out bike infra for a “shared use” lane mixing bikes & pedestrians; sub-Bryant Ave; won’t work). Biz owners behind Frey want compliant Council as of 1/26 … this is among big reasons Uptown Assn & ThriveMpls are spending $$. Support progressives!

Best I can tell the county found a way to eliminate the bike path, while preserving their ability to say they haven't eliminated the bike path. Bizarre outcome.

The final concept design for Lyndale Ave is out and friends, it's really bad. They have a SHARED USE PATH on the east side of the street.

You don't put shared use paths in busy commercial areas, especially when this is in one of the densest neighborhoods in the entire state!

Disappointed that the Mayor's proposed budget includes $20 million for Downtown Transit Improvements; which is for moving buses off of Nicollet Mall. (By the way, the community engagement around that project has largely been "don't"). stories.opengov.com/minneapolism...

Next session we should start talking about state run or subsidized Intercity buses.

You should be able to buy a ticket to go to St Cloud, Mankato, Duluth, Rochester at an affordable consistent price with multiple trips leaving per day.

Tearing down City Center would open more space for a park/plaza too.

Then pedestrianize 6th St and First Avenue. That's the entertainment district anyway.

Ok, next challenge. Actually go to Uptown! Farmers Market on Thursday. Concert at Green Room on Fri. Go get tacos at La Bodega. Go buy something at Moona Moono. Support what we’ve got or stop complaining.
