Love this #booksky .💙📚
Third person limited is my preferred writing style. I'm not a huge fan of first person in general. I have written in second person present tense before, and that was a very fun challenge.

Been on a strong fanfic kick lately. Anyone else go through waves on favorite genres, formats, and content?
That is one of the reasons I don't like Berserk, so I totally get that.
No problem!
Love Tokyo Ghoul though, and another more recent one is Choujin X, which is also good. Tokyo Ghoul re: is also good, and is just a twist on the characters.
Uzumaki is by one of the best horror manga-ka around, so if you like horror, definitely add it to your list. Death Note is good (I loved the art) but I still have mixed feelings about it. Berserk is another one that I have mixed feelings about. Haven't read Vagabond.
You've got a great start with Full-metal Alchemist. That's one of my all time favorites. What sort of genre do you prefer?

Today seeing that Mark Zuckerberg's company has used 13 of my books to train his AI model without paying a penny or even, seeking permission. Want to object? You can write him a letter here:https://actionnetwork.org/letters/authors-guild-author-letters-to-ai-companies/
Meta used at least 16 of my books, and numerous articles, to help train the AI it will use to make billions.

Trump is threatening Federal Funding for Libraries; learn more and take action at saveimls.org.
Libraries have played an essential role in safeguarding indigenous history and cultural identity.
PRESIDENT TRUMP SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER GUTTING INSTITUTE OF MUSEUM & LIBRARY SERVICES By eliminating the only federal agency dedicated to funding library services, the Trump administrations executive order is cutting off at the knees the most beloved and trusted American institutions and the staff and services they offer. show up FOR OUR LIBRARIES American Association
Dear Congress,
Libraries are the place we all belong. The place where Mister Rogers’ neighbors collide at the library to help one another. We come together to embrace library joy. What good is the world without libraries and museums? ❤️🩹
Call, email Congress! Help libraries & museums! We need you 💛

I was asked by an author about masculinity in the queer community. They're nervous to release a book where the gay male lead is effeminate. We had a talk about their character and their identity. Plainly put, yes, their gay character is effeminate and 100% a-okay. Get ready... I have thoughts...

I really enjoyed it. I hope you like it, too!

It's beautiful!!!
Maya Angelou "I'm always sorry that people ban my books. Many times I've been called the most banned. Many times my books are banned by people who never read two sentences."
Book bans are often started by people that fear knowledge. And access is the key to unlocking potential. With book bans on the rise, it's vital to ensure students can access a diverse range of reading materials, from timeless classics to modern works.

An image that shows a Discord screenshot, where a digital illustration posted on the desktop site has an icon on the corner. When clicked, it displays four different AI apps, that let you "modify" the image in different ways.
Doing a guide for the Discord mess- (As I did on Tumblr!)
Discord has added a feature that lets other people "enhance" or "edit" your images with different AI apps. It looks like the image below.
Currently, you can't opt out from this at all. But here's few things you can do as a protest.

This looks so fun, I can't wait!
One danger of embracing generative AI as a learning device and in language assistance is that you're letting the keepers of that AI have power over what you learn and how you write. It will be programmed with biases, unintentional but often *quite* intentional, that you will unknowingly adopt.
Bookshop.org is offering 20% off this collection of romances by black authors with code BHM25. We've talked about quite a few of them on the show, and two were Best of 2024 picks.
I haven't gotten much done for actual writing and editing, BUT I did finish (mostly) renovating my home office, so I'll take that win. Now, to write!

Okay, so at the request of the lovely @trance.bsky.social , I'm going to tell a story about what happens when a shitty person is "just joking", and then discovers there are consequences.
