I've seen some rumblings from the 2nd amendment crowd...but it's hard to find sometimes

Reading between the lines, it’s obvious Starmer’s position is temporary.

They keep talking about his “mandate” from 18 months ago, which only matters if he can still deliver electorally this time around.

If Labour loses in May, he’s almost certainly gone.

Sarwar’s intervention looks less like strategy and more like self-preservation.

With the Scottish elections looming, distancing himself from Starmer may be the only political space he thinks he has left.

Labour rallying round Starmer was entirely predictable.

Sarwar’s move just exposes how poor a political operator he is.

There was never any chance Starmer would go before the Denton by-election, and even after that, he’d likely stagger on until May.

If you can be executed for carrying a legally permitted firearm (and then shot 11 times after it was taken from you while holstered) you don’t have the right to bear arms under the Constitution.

It’s wild how quickly the “don’t tread on me” crowd became “comply or die.”

From “school shootings are the price of the 2nd Amendment” to “he should’ve stayed home.”

From “Kyle Rittenhouse is a hero” to “you can’t carry a gun, per the 2nd.”

Nothing says Peace Prize like two warmongers trading it for a coup d’état.

Did another open mic standup. Apparently, the room wasn't ready for a 5-minute deconstruction of Santa’s gender identity, and a few people found the Trump/Clinton material 'hard to swallow.' Aside from the palpable sense of local resentment, I’d say it went well. 😅

So I'm looking forward to my next open mic night...it's meant to be a festive edition. I was told by the organiser to write a Christmas joke...

Setup - some more setup - tangent - more setup - callback - address some audience disappointment - some long awkward pauses - some meta commentary - and then a painfully overly drawn out punchline, that was absolutely not worth it.

Probably not suitable for open mic night...unless I lock the doorsa

I guess my issue is that I've basically got the concepts of a joke.

You know how standup routine is often: setup - punchline - laughter

That's very efficient and clearly a winning formula....where as what I've got is...

I think it's less likely now since they are rowing back on breaking manifesto promises like raising income tax

...but it probably would have been someone awful like Streeting. I think the MPs would try to anoint a starmer-lite candidate as opposed to someone the membership would elect
