the salary cap actually saved Sather’s career as Rangers GM. he at least also hit on mid round draft picks. couldn’t develop a first rounder and good news was, he always traded our firsts away. there’s not one thing I can point to with Drury to say “he’s good at that at least”.

honestly, Sather’s beginning tenure was horrendous, up until they installed a cap, but at least he didn’t take something that had the makings of being potentially great and then ruin it. Drury’s run is bad because he’s literally incompetent.

the fact that we’re even discussing a trade of Adam Fox is fireable to Chris Drury. Drury really took this team and utterly destroyed it. worst thing that happened was the Penguins firing Hextall and Burke and requesting to interview Drury. it sealed our fate.
