I got to organize a little bit with Alexis nearly 10 years ago, and sheโs frickin brilliant. I couldnโt be more fired up about this:
I just voted HELL NO to giving ICE a single penny.
Congress should not be funding an agency that has terrorized our communities, kidnapped our neighbors, and killed people on the street with impunity.
We must abolish ICE and end qualified immunity for ICE agents NOW.
Working Families Party endorses Janeese Lewis George, Mayor, District of Columbia.
Working Families Party endorses Robert White, Congress, District of Columbia.
Thereโs a once in a generation opportunity to build governing power for working people coming up.
Weโre endorsing @janeese4dc.bsky.social for Mayor of Washington, D.C., and @robertwhitedc.bsky.social for Congress to represent the District of Columbia.
Statement on ICE Shooting of Renee Nicole Good Tonight, our hearts are with Renee Goodโs family and loved ones as they grieve this terrible loss. Once again, we can see with our own eyes the cruel and vicious agenda of the Trump administration. To protect our residents, we must end the mass deployment of ICE agents into American cities and restore rule of law and basic accountability from the federal government. Grateful for @massgovernor.bsky.social & @massago.bsky.socialโs leadership for the 143,000 Boston residents and 1M MA residents who rely on SNAP to keep nutritious food on the table and keep dollars in our local economies. SNAP was not designed as & cannot continue as a state by state program.
This might resolve depending on the next court case, but I would love to see a map that summarizes which states provided full benefits in November, which provided half benefits, and which provided nothing. Absolutely chaotic.
NEW: A federal judge ordered the Trump admin to fund food stamps in full this month. Pretty quickly, DOJ said it would appeal.
Now, millions of poor families are in limbo, and it is not entirely clear if/when they're going to see *any* SNAP payments in Nov.

HIP benefits still available if you have 1 cent left on SNAP card. BPS students still get free meals.

This moment calls for all of usโgovernment, nonprofits, individuals, philanthropy, and businessโto come together for our community.
Boston doesnโt back down. We stand together to take care of our neighbors.
If the Trump administration allows SNAP benefits to expire, 140,000 Boston residents could lose vital food benefits that contribute $30 million to our small businesses and grocery stores.
The majority of Bostonโs SNAP recipients are seniors, people with disabilities, and families with children.

If the federal government doesnโt act, 655,000 MA SNAP recipients (1 in 6 residents) will not receive the benefits they are legally entitled to and 1 in 5 grocery dollars will leave our local economy. The SNAP funds must be released:

We are being killed by the dumbest people on Earth.
There are still 2 more votes:
A lot of what is happening now is the Rs pushing the final vote until the wee hours of the morning so that the American people won't be watching the final debate.
Itโs sickening to se the number of agricultural industry associations lined up behind a bill that will literally take food away from millions of Americans.
This is hard for Americans to understand. We've never lived with mass hunger. SNAP & other food programs have been *that* successful that we forgot what problem they solve.
It's kinda like the Dutch going "Huh, we haven't flooded in like 70 years. I guess we can blow up all these dikes!"
Today is Northeast SNAP Day of Action! We need the Senate to vote NO on proposals to cut SNAP, Medicaid, and basic needs programs.Join us in fighting for these critical programs that help people afford groceries and healthcare.

In small towns across the country, SNAP does more than feed families โ it keeps local grocery stores open. Trumpโs proposed cuts would hit rural areas hardest, where hunger is already rising and options are few. www.al.com/news/2025/06...
