hey folks, i’m a rails / ruby dev with a bit over 10 years of experience professionally and i was just hit with my second layoff. looking for a new role would love to chat! #rails #ruby.
I might risk the transfer just to get to play with the button… 😂
Humans need clear context to generate useful code too! It utterly baffles me why people are suddenly happy to do this for robots when they weren’t doing it for other humans before. Human with nebulous, loose spec vs robot with clearly defined requirements just doesn’t seem like a fair comparison.
It’s a real shame. I really loved the direction, accessibility focus and ideas in it. But I’m guessing this was out of his hands. Sad day :(
Yeah I would have been nice but I signed up as a supporter literally yesterday a few hours before it was taken down so it’s pretty understandable. I would guess it’s been a rough time recently to get to a point where you have to yank your project entirely. It’s a real shame though.
I was literally in the middle of building something with it when the repo disappeared... I thought it was just Github having a moment but clearly not 😕 I hope @cory.laviska.com is okay.

The only catch is that you'll have to listen to me ramble on a bit about some of the lessons I've learned while building an open source Rails engine (Lookbook) as a relative Ruby n00b. But I'll try and keep that bit as short as possible to maximise pizza and drinks time 🙂
Like free pizza and/or drinks? 🍕☕️🍺
