The first issue of Tractor Beam is live with my new story, βThe Flowers Where 580 Used To Be.β I love the way this came together & I wish more #climatefiction had the resources for stuff like this.
Anyway, enjoy my first #soilremediation #solarpunk #romance!

My wife and I have tried to hold things together over the last couple of years, with a lot of help from our online friends, but weβre sinking now, literally and figuratively.
If you can help (even just a re-post), we really need it now.

Yes, the BBC Micro port was incredible, as was the intro music. It was slicker than anything else on the system.
I've open sourced Modular Play for #playdate. Purchase from itch.io to support future development: github.com/orllewin/mod...
New pedal day, Electro Harmonix Pitch Fork. It's absolutely sublime: www.youtube.com/shorts/bdJy-...
I ordered one of these as he's local to me and the price is good: www.parabolicmicrophone.co.uk/I'll post back with results when I get it.
Walked up the clough to do some wind turbine geophone recordings only to find them winding down as the sun sets. https://youtu.be/1aeIAtZjd1s?si=U1V_Osfhdx__IGyc
I'd like one too but they're so expensive. It'd be a good project but I'm already doing too much. Do you have any resources for a DIY approach?

Β° a study of cassette degradation using organic materials. over time, the cassette loop took on a soft, muffled expression.
My patching got so much better when I committed to no crossed patch cords and mastering "#" notation. I strive to make patches read like code. I'm particularly proud of this one, based on R. Luke Dubois' Jitter phase vocoder! Pic 2 is the original @cycling74.bsky.social

A DIY momentary AB pedal (MAB) with a sticker on with the Orllewin smiley face logo, MAB (the pedal name), Orllewin across the bottom and an old royalty free drawing from a book of a comical character (who was smoking, but I edited the cigarette out).
Pedal stickers arrived from the printer, they look fantastic. I just need to find a spare few hours for soldering to make a small batch, if they sell well I might do a bigger run. MAB = momentary AB. #guitarpedal

I'm opposed to buying new stuff where possible, but the Vestax lineage of these makes buying a pair very tempting: https://www.korg.com/uk/products/dj/handytraxx_play/

Tempted to post these photos on some audiophile groups, just to give them their daily two minutes hate.
5 bare metal pedal enclosures. With a white cross marked where the centre punch will make the pilot dent/hole for the drill to fit the momentary foot switch.

Unintended consequences, it's something I always raise in the workplace when some management decision or other is being considered. Not sure this one could have been anticipated though.
*Korg PS-1 - Bluesky doesn't have an edit post option?
A mini guitar pedalboard with a few pedals, notably the MXR Layers which is the central part of my current playing
I have some space on my new (to me) pedalboard, must not start browsing Reverb.... I need some new smaller patch cables, and the Korg PD-1 has a massive jack going into the Layers, need to get a small adapter and hide that underneath. #pedalboard #guitarpedal
An old man, barefoot, in a threadbare sweater, sitting in a threadbare armchair, amid the dilapidated, below-decks clutter of an old canal barge.
Actor, author and seafaring vagabond Sterling Hayden at age 65, aboard his ancient, 100-foot, river barge β and refuge β in BesanΓ§on, France.
An unsettling thought: he died five years later, at the age I am now.

A Max/MSP patch, lots of objects and cables.
I got a looper working in Max/MSP, I'm sure there's many better ways but this is simple and tidy. If you attempt to overdub it unleashes demons. #maxmsp #guitarpedal
It's on my itch account, but it's not been updated for a long time. I use it daily still though

It's beautiful this morning. The kids Saturday club has been cancelled though, we're going to drag them up the Clough to see the icicles instead

Going to miss this, but not going to miss the reduced school hours (10.25 to 2.30...).
