Unless someone in the DoD was working on Operation Epic Gallipoli, who the fuck though there was a plan to open the Strait

Sure it's not just a new pope?
I think Elbridge and the china hawks are now manifesting the bombing of Iran as a key part of the anti china strategy. The first island chain so last year anyway. What really matters is preventing a PLAN breakout into the med
I'm not sure their plan was to have their missiles stuck underground, while their ability to launch was destroyed... That seems a bit of a silly take.
Could have had loads of a330s by now too. It really is one of the most ridiculous procurment messes in recently memory (and I come from the country the brought you the Ajax afv, so l know a fucking mess when I see it)
I'm sure Colby and Hegseth have a plan for tanker procurement
Tech bros arguing in favour of being a regulated utility is not something I expected to see in 2026
not sure why everyone thinks this is such a big problem when an obvious solution exists
A worryingly lack of Lethalityβ’ on display there
it's important work, for all our sakes
Thanks god! I was worried you'd pulled the rug out from the entire world economy for a moment
I think post Brexit and post Truss, people just see enjoy giving us a beating because it's easy and it's fun
Dammit nick you've made things WORSE

The rich world just made the biggest intervention in oil markets in modern history.
So why did crude prices barely budge?
Here's my 10m primer on the plumbing of the global economy and the surprisingly simple mathematics underlying the energy shock of 2026π youtu.be/0Rl51kNQ1Og?...
You're also not going through a 30 mile channel, you're going through a three mile channel if you suspect that one of the three might contain a mine, you will not want to try and find out for sure
Bob Seely is unfortunately an abject commentator and a erstwhile Trump apologist.
Who were these advisors? Kushner and Witkoff? CENTCOM?
OK yes I'm going to write a piece on US mine countermeasures (spoiler: inadequate!) because I need to channel my incredulity into something vaguely useful before I explode like a drifting contact mine
surely other countries with significant renewables do this far better?
thanks i will take some time to read these. Somehow we're accidentally making a case that going green is ridiculously expensive. You can say 'look how much renewable electricity we produce' but someone in (say) the US can reasonably say 'yeah but look at how expensive it is'
i had heard this but i really can't bend my mind around it. what was the rationale? To provide incentive to the windfarm operators?
I understand far better the cost of war, what I don't understand is why our renewables don't (yet) provide as much protection from price volatility as would be ideal
So I was hoping someone who does understand it better would be able to help explain it
No I don't think you've understood the premise of what I was asking. Which is why does is UK energy so comparatively expensive, while when have been relatively successful in rolling out renewables. Something in the UK market mechanism is involved, and don't understand that mechanism.
That's an answer to a question but not the question I was asking
What I don't get, is why if we have so much renewables, is our energy (especially for industrial customers) so bloody expensive? What's the issue with the pricing?
yeah he's right, it's the due alarm is my bigger problem if im honest
Very good reading
Blimey he's aged fast!
Let's at least call them by their actual name though. Taiwanese Fans
