I know it feels like it means nothing because there are no immediate results, but republicans are expecting american citizens to not care/not speak up and eventually have this war “normalized”

Too much of the RPG scene glorifies a scrappy grassroots aesthetic to the point it sabotages good design.

Not every game has to be crunchy and meticulously detailed, but it's glorification of vibegaming and repulsion to any inkling of polish has lead to a hobby full of products with no integrity.

Modifying rules on the fly as a DM to fit your specific player group and environment is 100% valid and should be normalized and valued as a skill set

They clearly committed a war crime, but we've been watching an active genocide for years at this point, as well as watching the US commit *other* war crimes in the Caribbean in addition to murdering both citizens & immigrants on our own soil & no one with any kind of power is doing jack shit so

Meanwhile: please pray for the people of Iran. They did not choose their form of gov't, they are living thru current outcomes of >100 years of colonial-imperial b.s., & they are most at risk.

Maybe this is controversial, but I worry that a lot of people close themselves off from the rest of the world as a self-flagellation for things that are out of their control, i.e. "I can't engage with this culture because I'm a filthy Westerner", and that's not a good angle to approach from.

If Merchant's Tale drops tomorrow & it turns out that the magical storybook conceit in use for the latest FFXIV variant dungeon is an instance of characters explicitly calling out Orientalist depictions & how "this isn't like the real Corvos at all," I will laugh until I choke.

Can't make me choose. Red & Blue were a formative experience for me when the games came to the states in '98, Yellow on their coattails, and Gold & Silver were an absolute marvel of a sequel in spite of their flaws.
