Emotionally, handling some of the low points between expeditions get me thinking about the finality of life. The thing that makes me feel better about it is loving those around me and sharing happiness.

World Whale Day is the third Sunday in February.
As I celebrate, I reminisce on my time in Massachusetts, watching these humpbacks and look forward to swimming with them in the Caribbean in just over two weeks.

In Peru, it is illegal to cut down a Brazil Nut Tree. So when clearing, loggers will cut down everything else. But the tree only thrives when surrounded by other trees. The temperature, humidity, exposure to light, are all essential to it. So when forests are cut away and the tree is alone, it dies.
Ever walk past sleeping Komodo dragons to photo a blue viper? It’s a surreal experience.

A spitting cobra bite lead to this child getting his leg amputated. Due to belief in natural medicine and lack of infrastructure, he wasn’t brought to the snakebite clinic until a week after the bite happened.
Education is crucial for ensuring proper treatment is sought out.

A shot from my Africa video where a team member climbed 25 meters up a tree to go catch a green mamba. I got the first ever capture of a venomous snake filmed with a drone.
This was in Guinea. I was there with the ASF team for the opening of a snakebite clinic.
Photographing a wild ball python is something a lot of people only dream of. But to find one this pretty is just amazing. Love those high yellows.

One thing that travel has made me fall in love with is cooking.
Food is conversation. And I want to speak as many languages as possible.
Two baby Graceful Chameleons in Guinea outside of the snakebite clinic in Kindia. These are two of several that had just hatched and were occupying the tree.
My Africa video comes out tomorrow and I’m so excited to share.

“Make me want to visit Vietnam for $200, Alex.”
May she rest in peace.
I had to doubletake my desktop monitor. Getting my Black Mamba video ready to publish for tomorrow.
Can.. can you see me on there? 😜
In stories that sound fake:
One cool experience I had this past year was going to a cacao field (chocolate) and pulling a bullet from a wild king cobra. When I released it, it went down a creek and into its home behind a waterfall.
If I wasn’t filming, it wouldn’t be believable.

I’ll opt in for skydiving.
Let me in on your next trip!
One of my favorite images I’ve taken is of these two brother bears in Kodiak, Alaska.
I miss Alaska and can’t wait to be back in 2025!
