imagine if that drive to hear an npc say more things lead someone to picking up game dev tools. imagine if it lead them to forming communities with other fans to make a mod. imagine if anything good came out of their brains

ppl who want more out of npcs need to just write fanfiction like we've had this bespoke solution for decades and ppl have been keeping themselves satisfied and content the whole time but ofc these are the least creative ppl on the planet and just can't admit they need someone to play dolls for them
