Ew! Definitely don’t take them to help you shop, then! Take your friends who’ll tell you which little crop top is in your color and which ones are trying to be cute but not quite making it

I realize that to people outside the PNW this is just an interesting news item, but if you're in the PNW, where tracking orca pods is a local religion, this is basically like being visited by alien gods

Look wake up this is serious. Chatbots are driving people insane. It's happening to people you don't think of as mad people. This is a serious danger of the technology that should majorly concern you. It's not safe for vulnerable people, & you don't want to find out the hard way that's you.

right, like, don't offer up tax cuts, gin people up about the fact that wealthy people pay way less in effective tax than the rest of us, and keep the fight there. don't voluntarily give up revenue ground.

My plan is to try the top down center out method next time to get the rise and hip shape right. Maybe that’ll work better than the β€œuhhhhhh, maybe it’s this seam that needs adjusting…?” technique I’ve tried so far

I take my sister with me bc she’s great at honest feedback about what is and isn’t flattering, but also v clear that it’s the clothes that are failing to do their job

I’m determined to learn how to make trousers that fit properly, but my first two attempts weren’t quite it

It’s offensive! β€œWould you accept money in lieu of a government that represented your values or tried to improve society somewhat?” Well, no, actually, I wouldn’t!

13.03.2026 19:10 πŸ‘ 24 πŸ” 3 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Ok. If I put on my gym clothes and throw a professional sweater on top, I can do the webinar and ditch those clothes before leaving home.

Gym bag needs workout stuff, overnight stuff, and anything I’ll need for game night.

Ski clothes go in the OTHER bag that I’ll pick up tomorrow.

Why do I keep setting myself up for situations where I have to pack a bag for a professional webinar, an aerial straps workout, a weekend date, game night, and skiing simultaneously?! (And whatever I pack has to be transportable on public transit)

I recently introduced myself to a gym friend I’ve known for years because she had a hoodie over her head and I didn’t recognize her

Just a thought: if *11* of y’all bought a Whole Store Ebook package from me, I could buy a new waffle iron. THIS one. WITH NINE INTERCHANGEABLE PLATES! πŸ˜ƒ https://frifri.be/fr/produit/le-gaufrier-edition-webonly/

I’ve been a professional court interpreter for 16 years and I endorse this message

This is ultimately the thing.

There's a concept in disability justice called the dignity of risk: that we believe disabled people should have the right to *fail*. A lot of abled people look at disabled people and think they must be coddled and protected - it's a benevolent bigotry.

I have some regular ongoing gigs where I know everyone, but if I do 2-4 jobs a day and meet at least 2 strangers at each one (probably an underestimate tbh), those numbers add up. My job probably isn’t typical, but there’s a data point for you

13.03.2026 17:54 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Could be! I’m AuDHD myself and I’ve badly misjudged my share of social situations. Appearing friendly is a learnable skill, to a certain extent, but I know it’s complicatedβ€”I still don’t love group interactions bc there are too many factors for me to keep track of, compared to 1-1 conversations

13.03.2026 17:52 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I’m a Spanish interpreter, and it’s normal for me to meet half a dozen+ new people per weekdayβ€”the Spanish speaker (mostly different people each job) and their English-speaking lawyer/doctor/colleague (I know many local professionals but regularly meet new ones) plus staff at the appointments

13.03.2026 17:46 πŸ‘ 5 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

When people actually think people are all terrible and rude and mean…I start wondering about the common denominator in all those interactions. It’s good to know a wide variety of people, even if (like me) you like to spend most of your time alone

13.03.2026 17:37 πŸ‘ 11 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I definitely joke about being a horrible misanthrope who hardly likes anyone, but I’m actually just easily overwhelmed in social situations. Most people are pretty cool! I meet a lot of them and we mostly get along fine!

I think they’re talking about a policy wrt individual interpreter and translator workflows. They’re talking about problems members could use genAI to solve, but the tools don’t do the things they claim to do! You can’t use genAI to do your billing bc it doesn’t know what a number is!

13.03.2026 04:16 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Same, but I also find it infuriating that the same people whose only goal is supposedly β€œnumber go up” are SO BAD at actually doing the things that would print them money. Like β€œYou keep saying you have one goal, then you ruin everything and don’t even maximize that goal!”

13.03.2026 04:14 πŸ‘ 6 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

i mean it depends, shit is not inevitable,
but we need to elect people who are NOT trying to bring us back to normal, we need to elect people who are interested in (1) punishing the wrongdoing and (2) building something new and better than the status quo ante

12.03.2026 12:43 πŸ‘ 461 πŸ” 61 πŸ’¬ 21 πŸ“Œ 8

But first I’m going to the gym. If I fail at any aerial skills tonight I’ll probably just lie on the floor and cry
