We support them by sending them money each week for their canteen so they can buy extra food and toiletries to make their time in prison more bearable. We also send them books, a weekly newsletter and help with travel for family and friends who can't afford to visit their loved one. This all adds up very quickly. So far in 2025 we've supported up to 40 prisoners at any one time; this sees our monthly expenses at over £3000 for canteen costs alone. With the UK seeing some of the harshest sentencing for peaceful protest, we have to be prepared to support this high number of prisoners for the foreseeable future. With our income this isn't sustainable, and we frequently find ourselves with no money left at all"

Unprecedented police repression continues: Met raid 17 homes of Youth Demand supporters

"Since the 6 house raids following our welcome talk at Westminster Quaker Meeting House, the Metropolitan Police have raided a further 11 houses of Youth Demand supporters. They have found no evidence of a conspiracy to commit public nuisance. Our supporters' homes are being raised in the middle of the night by the Met Police, traumatising their families and flatmates.
