I have either heard it said that way or have said it that way myself. Though it doesnβt appear to be in any dictionary pronunciations. But Iβve reached a point where I view all ways of talking as βallowable.β Language is as diverse as humanity is and changeable at micro and macro levels
One of my sci-fi favs!
Yep. A few years later I heard someone during an interview on the radio pronounce it the way I had. I realized it was
not unique to meβand yes that made me feel better
βawryβ was one of those for me. Iβll never forget the look on my colleagueβs face when I βmispronouncedβ it and they were trying to figure out what I meant. Good times!
Happy International Womenβs Day

Today we celebrate the strength, courage, and voices of women everywhere.

At least, your post made me think it could be a similar phenomenon. If not a devaluing of communication sources, a change in how we value certain language patterns found in text
I think of this phenomenon as the devaluation of communication based on βsource.β Like if you receive a hand-written β€οΈnote from your loved one, vs a type-written note, vs an email, vs a text message, vs some predictive text output, how much do you value each? Same question for the writer of the note
Also be aware that way more legal services are equipped for Spanish than other languages. I constantly worry that other minorities are being missed, and are stuck in detention with no representation.
Is climate change responsible for increasingly frequent or severe cold events?
The evidence suggests it is not.
Instead, the impact of climate change is warmer winters and less severe cold events.
@hausfath.bsky.social has a great post on The Climate Brink talking about this.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. Itβs dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Love this power of discourse analysis so much. I know of no other technique that can reliably reveal so many unexpected and important insights from conversational data

In this podcast Cindy Alvarez talks about how to center and celebrate each personβs language (and identity) in learning contexts, but applicable in so many other contexts. As she says βYou are your languageβ and βyou all have to celebrate what you bring inβ
