Daisy vs Ridley
Wonder Daisy
EVA Pilot Daisy
Daisy and the Ninja Koopas
And yes, Daisy is my favorite of the Mario Princesses, and yes, I am a little miffed they skipped past her to feature Rosalina in the next movie instead. Let my plucky girl shine!

That time I took "Super Mario Bros Wonder" a bit literally, and finding out that in his original Transformers toy bio, the Autobot, Gears, was described to have what was essentially Luigi's jumping ability.

Daisy x Cammy = Daissy
Peach x Chun-Li = Peach-Li
Rosalina x Rose = Rosa
No new work done in time for Mar10 Day, so please enjoy a repost thread of my Mario-themed crossover art! First up are the Street Fighter!

Whoo, this takes me back! This is actually a scan of the final artwork, which has long been lost to time and outdated hardware, and it carries a special story. Back in the day, my family had a small company that specialized in aerial cartography. Before the time of Google Maps, our company would get contracted to do fly-overs of assigned locations, photograph them, and turn those into maps for our clients. Usually, these would be geologic studies and aerial surveys of environmental changes, etc. So what does this have to do with my summer swimsuit art? My uncle wanted to modernize our operation by buying an EXPENSIVE Macintosh computer workstation, a high-end scanner and a color printer. We could scan the photo negatives from the aerial survey, clean up the scans, then put the resulting pictures together into a full map, which would then be printed for the client. And it was all done on Photoshop.... 3.0. I had a knack for figuring out computers and programs, so my uncle let me loose on this expensive piece of hardware, let me scan my drawings, color them and even PRINT them, all so we could have an idea of how to run the software and develop a workflow. This, and a handful of other drawings, helped us figure out stuff at a time before Youtube tutorials, let alone Youtube itself, were even a thing. Now about the print itself-- the white spots are drops of paint that landed on it during a time when my room was being painted. My coloring was textbook amateur: selection lassos BY MOUSE, flat coloring with the bucket tool, tiled patterns for the wal texture, and the sky was a scan from a National Geographic magazine we had in the office. Maybe I should revisit this pic with my current skills.
Double post while I get started on my first pic of the month! I did some cleaning recently, and found this particular gem. This print was one of the earlier iterations of Amantha and company, and was one of my first experiments in scanning, cleaning, and coloring art digitally.
A cleaned up scan of my ARC Raider version of Amantha, with game "mascot", Scrappy. Might as well repost the final version for comparison.
How many of you use your OCs as the basis for your in-game characters?

CV lives in infamy in my memory, because I softlocked myself into an unwinnable boss fight, and it wasn't my copy, so I never got the chance to redo it!
I mean I could NOW, but the "trauma" is still there! π
But yeah, need more Claire!
Hitting the weekend with relaxation, drawing some bingo, and finally taking time to play some RE9uiem for myself.
Only limited my watching of playthroughs to only the first hour or so, so I'm familiar enough with this cutscene to be comfortable snapping this pic.
Title:
Lily Becomes a Projectile Zoner
"The padded gloves help absorb the recoil!"
"But how does she even hold it? Let alone PULL THE TRIGGER?"
"Then she REALLY doesn't need to worry about the recoil!!!"
It's all about Stage 2. Juggling as many of those damn birds, so you can get enough extra lives to last the Turbo Tunnel and beyond.
That hair that makes you go, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Amantha dressed as a Raider, walking alongside Scrappy the rooster. She is wearing an ARC Raiders logo inspired version of the Aviator outfit, and the Electrician backpack. This pic was supposed to be the first of the series of pics I was supposed to do for February, but it ended up taking the entire month. And it was mostly because OF. THIS. BACKGROUND. I probably could have cheated this. Took and painted over a screenshot or something, but something pulled at me to try to paint an actual background plate, and make it as close to the actual thing as I was capable of. And believe me, "what I'm capable of" has a LONG way to go! There are some inconsitencies with the real setting here that I purposely decided to keep. Part of the work was using a screenshot for reference, while leaving some things up to my own interpretation. The mistakes are there because of me, and that's a kind of personal touch. The character, as usual, I base off of Amantha, and she's decidedly less anime-isque this time around. I've been looking at some more expressive design styles as of late, and I was drawn back to the influences of Disney animation (the Little Mermaid to Tarzan period specifically), as well as CG animation styles like in Overwatch. I may be going a bit more in this direction for the time being, at least until my hand changes its mind again. I wish there was a "Scrappy Walk" emote in ARC. Scrappy's the rooster.
I was introduced to ARC Raiders by some guys at work. There was a server slam that was held last year, so why not try playing the game for free?
ARC is not my type of game. Anyone who knows me, knows I don't play PVP shooters.
But I ended up not only liking ARC Raiders, I ended up buying it.

Ah, got it! Thanks!
I'm not too familiar with the older KOF titles, and have no experience with sprite work, so I'm wondering why Ryo's foot seems to be missing in the non-CRT shot. Was the shot taken at a point where the animation hadn't drawn in the foot yet?
Month's almost gone, and I haven't really posted anything yet. Not even for Valentines. All because I got it into my head to do THIS monstrosity, and it's not even close to being half-done!
WHY!? I'm not even a background artist...!
(but I'm still having fun doing it...)
The X parasite was a Pokemon all along...!
They pore all over your vids and setup, cross their arms, adjust their glasses, then say,
"Yes, it WAS a smart move putting in the Zelda sounds."
Yeah, that's right... I was remembering Alan's sketchbook more. π«‘
(Shh... shh... each row, line, and block contains the numbers 1 to 9, as well as a randomizer for the next character creator video...)
Since "in-universe" this is Lisa's novel, who would have done the illustrations? Alan, or maybe they track down the artist who did Ally's 'Allycat' avatar?
Sorry, my brain is overthinking things I should be dedicating to my own characters, and they're getting crazy jealous. π€ͺ
Hey.
Tell people when they do good job.
When you like the stuff they make.
When you like the characters theyβve created.
The stories theyβve told.
Nobody hears it as often as you think bc everyone thinks everyone hears it all the time.
Trust. They donβt.
Tell. Them.
That was less of a treat and more of a feast...

A high-school aged me who once tried to write a Aliens vs Terminator crossover fanfic is doing backflips of joy in my head right now.
The "Post-Quest Sale"! Everything must go! All proceeds go to the next adventure, so Link will have to look for everything AGAIN with a few new toys thrown in!
