Agreed, it is the only cure. I want, like, a capsule wardrobe of nice things. So I can mix and match without having to find new nice things every week.

Black lurcher dog sprinting happily on snow-sprinkled field. Pale pink sunrise.
A slightly lopsided pig fashioned from a lemon, toothpicks (legs), and cloves (eyes). It has a pound coin in its mouth
We remembered to fashion a lemon beast. Good luck is assured. Thank you @2hatsjo.bsky.social
Well done. Iβm so sorry it came to that, but Iβm an even bigger admirer of yours now.
Itβs really good. Youβll probably know a lot of it, given your areas of expertise, but itβs very well collated and written.
In AND on papyrus would be a real power move

#162 American Teen Dramas by @2hatsjo.bsky.social
I've been a fan of Joanna Hagan for a long time, getting to know them though Amanda Palmer fandom and then following their podcast @makeyefretpod.bsky.social, with cohost @francibambi.bsky.social (Who did the cover art for this book.) /1
Rough purple painted background (acrylic) on black card; foreground (gouache) is a packet of Parma Violets. Instead of βVioletsβ it says βViolenceβ.
Wax pastel drawing of a βmackerel skyβ and a fish hook. Words overlaid, messily, also in pastel: βKISS ME UNDER THE MACKEREL SKY; WITH A SMILE ON YOUR FACE; AND A HOOK IN YOUR EYEβ
Iβve had this couplet in my head for WEEKS. I donβt think Iβve even seen a mackerel sky in that time. May this drawing finally purge it.
Things only a comedian/producer would post: I AM LOOKING FOR A TRUMPETER IN BRISTOL AVAILABLE THIS WEEK.
Long shot, but let me know. I will not block joke answers as some people do but I also won't laugh at them. I *might* roll my eyes indulgently.
Finally watched The Ballad of Wallis Island. Cried about swingball. Emotionally fragile? Possibly. Great film though.

Rock Looked Way Cooler Wet
Harvest There's a lot been said about the gold of the fresh stubble on the almost-hills of Suffolk, lit rich from the west on the first evening of September; rising (if you can call it that) to meet the indigo clouds coming in from the east. Loads said aboutβ darker yet on darkβ the crows arriving in unruly squadrons: landing, gorging, scattering before the tractor which rushes, rust red, ahead of the storm. (And here it is: the splatter of cold rain in the warm wind. Summer ending; harvest coming in.) Plenty been said on all that, I'm sure. But, Christ, doesn't it just bear saying once more.
Book cover: American Teen Dramas (From Sunnydale to Riverdale) by Joanna Hagan The cover shows a βwelcome toβ road sign in the shape of a tv, with static on the sign. In the background there are roads running through green fields. Thereβs a β67 Chevy impala (black), on the road. Thereβs a Gilmore Girls gazebo, the high school from Buffy, a Buffy/vampire diaries-sequel graveyard, the clocktower from Once Upon A Time, Pops from Riverdale (with the sign reading βPOP culture), the Bait Shop from The OC and the Bronze from Buffy.

The Great Norway Serpent, or Sea Orm, is the most famous of the many influential sea monsters depicted and described by 16th-century ecclesiastic, cartographer, and historian Olaus Magnus, who died #onthisday in 1557. Joseph Nigg explores: publicdomainreview.org/essay/o... #OTD
I left the wasps alone
in their corner of the garden,
getting drunk on
fallen apples.
Bit of a mistake.
I mean, I didn'tβ
I don't want the applesβ
but the wasps are mean drunks.
Yeah, I know they're an essential
part of the eco-system,
I get that,
but I think the fuckers
glassed a pigeon
[tosses Scully folder] you ever hear of The Grinch

Discussing Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil with @2hatsjo.bsky.social has already lead to multiple tangents. (Bloody good book, though, youβre going to want to read it on launch day.)
