Peter Lamb MP Demands Reinstatement of 24-Hour Urgent Treatment Centre at Crawley Hospital Local MP Peter Lamb has today called on NHS Sussex to urgently reinstate 24-hour urgent treatment services at Crawley Hospital, following the decision to reduce the operating hours of the hospital’s Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC). The reduction in hours has raised serious concerns among local residents about access to urgent healthcare, particularly during evenings and overnight, when alternative services are limited and travel to other hospitals can be difficult.

During their meeting they were given large multipacks of cigarettes, but to the advertisers’ surprise the cigarette company executives didn’t smoke with them, in fact it turned out none of them smoked. What they knew, and kept from the public, was the risk cigarettes pose to life.

Government set to deliver historic investment in community energy Communities like Crawley are set to benefit from the opportunity to own and control their own energy projects thanks to a new Labour initiative. The Government’s Local Power Plan delivers the biggest investment in community energy in UK history, giving communities control over local energy generation and the ability to use its profits to reinvest locally. Over recent years, new economic development in Crawley has been hampered by capacity limitations with the town’s current grid connectivity.

The latest reforms come as the government ramps up support for young people to take up apprenticeships, including a recent £725 million investment to pivot the system towards the workforce of the future.

This week, as promised, I intend to cover how Labour is working to cut the cost of living. Since the Liz Truss Budget the UK has struggled with high inflation and correspondingly high interest rates, dramatically hitting household finances. 19 months of stable economic management has seen inflation decline, with the Bank of England delivering a series of rate cuts, bringing down the cost of monthly mortgage payments.

Crawley Borough Council commences next phase of playground refurbishment programme Crawley Borough Council has commenced the next phase of its wider programme to revitalise unsupervised playgrounds across Crawley with the refurbishment of Northgate play and youth areas at Northgate playing fields. This phase of the Unsupervised Play Investment Programme, which is being fully funded by developers through Section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy payments, will see six play areas refurbished: Northgate, Northgate youth area, Loppet’s Road in Tilgate, Ifield Green, and Woodcroft Road and Hanbury Close in Ifield.

The Royal Family? Fish and chips? Our National Health Service. Expert queuing? Great answers, but for me nothing quite embodies our national character as much as Remembrance Sunday. The UK is far from alone in having a day dedicated to remembrance, but the day unites people across every part of our nation in taking the time to reflect upon the sacrifices made so those of us here today can live free from tyranny.
