She had not, so I got to introduce her to it. It was great. I was like OKAY SO, its basically like soulmates but its fate and everyone gets one but not everyone is lucky enough to meet theirs HOWEVER in my book his mate is his enemy and the guy doesn't even know because the bond is one sided mostly
btw this was how the conversation with my tattoo artist started:
Her: so what is your book about? I'm so curious!!
Me: Have you heard of the fated mates trope?
I literally saved for months for the cover and map commissions for Vow of Loathing and it was WORTH IT, people who justify using AI by not having the money to pay artists want instant gratification and that simply doesn't exist to creatives, there is nothing instant about the process of creation
Wanting not having the
to create energy to create

A digital illustation featuring two fairy characters standing together as a flock of pale teal moths swirl around them. One character has with pale blue-green skin, dark eye makeup and long orange-red hair, in blood-red and black helm and armor resembling the carapace of a Japanese rhinoceros beetle. They hold the second character, who has pale pink skin, soft features, and fluffy short pink hair, in a pink and green outfit reminiscent of a pink rose.
A digital illustration of a horned character rising from the ground inside a circular stone building in high-angle perspective. They are surrounded by and imbued with green fire-like magic. Human skulls swirl around them.
Digital illustration of a vampire with long claws in a torn white dress crouched on a ledge looking at the viewer. She is smirking, covered in blood. There is a moonlit gothic cityscape behind her.

There's no genre that should be written by AI because fuck AI forever, but romance has got to be the last genre AI should ever be used for. Despite all the jokes about how formulaic Romance is, you're asking an unfeeling machine to convey the most complex of human emotions (love, horniness).
Every transphobe sucks, without exception.
I think today's a good day to support indie authors who don't use AI.
And also to support editors, cover designers, artists, and book coaches who don't use AI and aren't running grift classes.
Small businesses that are struggling and get paid poverty wages.
If AI βauthorsβ and βartistsβ are so proud of their use of plagiarism-bots, why do NONE of them label their work as AI-generated?
They all pretend they did it themselves because they *know* audiences hate it and *know* they will be judged for it.
Keep rejecting AI and support humans ππ
me and all my besties HATE aiπ€
π I have an MM fae fantasy romance between a prince and an assassin from enemy courts on KU

Thank you for doing this Amara! Its good to ponder on topics like this
Vow of Loathing is an MM fantasy romance about a repressed fae prince and a mate bond with the assassin of his enemy court that he's kept hidden for over a century, terrified of what his father would do and of it being rejected.
From Vow of Loathing, Erasmus' father has (literally) burned it into him over years that his attraction to males is wrong, scared him into keeping his virginity, but after he sleeps with his mate and spends a long journey with him, he refuses to call himself disgusting for it again
Resistance is non-conformity, its living how you want to live, doing things the world tries to tell you is wrong just because it doesn't fit in with their ideals. Its saying fuck you to all of it and following your own path despite how difficult it might be and its fighting for the right to do so
Did this a liiil bit backwards but hi! I'm Kirsty, I'm 30, bi/demi and I'm currently writing an MM fantasy romance. Its the second book in the series, set in a fae world made up of seasonal courts and I just published book 1 a few weeks ago πββοΈ
And given the fact that even in London where I live people still get assaulted for being gay, told theyre not wanted in a place thats always been their home, by people who should have loved them?? Yeah, writing queer love stories is an act of resistance
When you write queer stories every word you write is an act of resistance, what you see as a silly romance is probably going to be banned in a lot of places, read in secret by people who live places where its not safe to be out. Its a form of escape for yourself as the writer but for the reader too
