i read a couple of Chuck Wendig's iwn books that were in present 3rd, and then was quite surprised that his Star Wars trilogy was also present. AFAIRemember none of the other licensed SW books I read were present (although I have for sure not read ALL if them)

i don't think it's quite so much a black box, but i also don't think a query is actually to sell the book (or the author): it's selling the story of how the book (or author) can be successful in the current marketplace
