The next book I'm contracted to write is sort of a post-dark-academia anti-romance gruesome magical revolution with several deaths on and around the barricades and it does not even have a title yet, wish me luck (but if I can pull this off I cannot WAIT to read it)

Writing romantic tension is wild because one minute they are at a crime scene nudging me: βwe could totally kiss! Letβs get to the kissing!β. I get to the kissing and theyβre all, βwe should talk.β.
I mean, sure. But right now?
Ok, couldnβt just talk at the crime scene.
It's a special sort of high you fix a narrative snarl with one clean, surgical line of text. Or the low when you realize you now have 102 minor edits to make and track.

Anyway⦠guess who has to find a slot somewhere for this roadside trash!
I would have had to follow them. Just tailed them like it was my job, befriend them the next time they stop, ply them with chicharron, and find out their story.
Just reading that makes me feel like very methodically and neatly removing my own skin to crawl out of it.
When I was a kid my friend was Catholic. She used to make up sins to confess at Church, then sheβd tag on the end that βalso I lied to a priestβ. It was the perfect plan!
This is true! Luckily for me I am difficult enough to get on with that none of them want me. Ask me about how I got kicked out of Scientology!

MY arm goes numb and loses strength, which sounds like nerve pain to ME! But the doctor says it isnβt nerve pain. So now we are in a one sided war of attrition where I wait to see if I get better (lose) or my arm falls off (I win!). Honestly, spite makes it much easier to be an optimist.
That was that Dalmatianβs BEST DAY EVER. The only way it could have been better would be if it had gotten a skunk to eat too.
