Every month 3 friends and I become The Basement Band, and head down into said room to jam on a list of songs we’ve recently compiled. We are going on 6 years, we have done 125+ songs. We have played 2 one-off gigs - but mostly it’s for us and our own amusement.

I completely agree with your assessment. Another point - if the dems shut down and the market happens to crash, the right wing echo chamber will blame the crash on the dems. They have to own everything that happens economically from now on. A crash now will set up a blue wave at midterms.
