Another fucking job rejection. So very, very tired. How much longer can I keep doing this?

A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of ID verification (which theyβre calling age verification) at account setup.
This makes absolutely ZERO sense if you have even the most basic understanding of technology
Six sample screens showing different background choices
Whilst I clean up existing code, write up my notes and delay looking at the next bit because I think it's tricky undecided to try and change a few things like the background. Found a few things I liked but remembered a few random patterns I'd knocked up before. I quite like them.
The thread below totally debunked this 'story' over the weekend. This is the Mail today.
You can read below that they were there for days without incident or trouble, but look at the images the Mail opted to use...
The US doesn't even let its own citizens see all content.
Thick as fucking mince that lot over there.
yeah it's why i did it really. Although apparently you can get away with some other distros too. This installed easily and simply, video output is great and I haven't had to change a thing.
I've never seen or tried Clip Studio, but wonder how it'd run under WINE or similar.
Had a couple of distros in mind but went with Pop!_OS. Read good and bad things about it as usual and ignored it. General use it feels fine, had one issue with the VPN GUI getting hidden. Biggest issue has been getting a couple of games running - but so far Borderlands 3 and Civ VI are great!
Nah. The machine is running nicer, sure it took me too long to get the controller working in Borderlands 3 (I really wasn't rushing) but Civ VI is running nicely.
Think the laptop might be getting a similar treatment over the weekend
Made the move from Windows to Linux on the old gaming desktop.
Now i don't like games.
Continuing to use #MicrosoftOffice / American software solutions when there have long been excellent (and free, #OpenSource, #European) alternatives available is sooo 2012.

It's fine to admit you don't understand the issues being discussed.
Bloody hate writing my CV. Hate reading all the useful advice like keep it short, snappy, but pack it full of every outcome and all the data ever.
The current process says I can go up to 5 pages which just feels so odd.
Been working on this for weeks and weeks...and I want it to end!
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
We heard your suggestions and are coming back! An all NEW season premieres January 24 at 9p ET on @cnn.com and next day on the CNN app.
I couldn't trust a nurse who has so little empathy for other humans.

this week's newsletter is titled "aren't you tired of feeling insane all the time?" and I think it speaks for itself
it is also free to read

Is anyone still paying for Microsoft Office? Don't most people only use at home it because their workplace is being rinsed for a sub whilst handing over their data for AI training?
A post by Zarah Sultana of 'Your Party', that uses a generated image with the words 'Your Party, County Durham Launch', surrounded by nine simple, flat images of images in silhouette with single colour backgrounds, presumably intended to represent Durham, four of which are a man with a weirdly long pick-axe, one is a building, two are gantries of some kind β for a coal mine? β and one is some kind of floating lamp. I will expand on this in the thread.
Okay, I can't let this one go. I live in Ireland, not the UK, but the use of this image by a supposedly socialist party is so stupid and offensive, I'm going to get stuck in.
Let me explain to you why any experienced illustrator/designer could have stopped you making so many miserable mistakes. 1/
Another day, another job rejection.
At least I got told this time rather than just ignored.
FFS. What the hell am I going to do?! Sick of being #unemployed and just want work!
Reading this, one proposal is to raise state pension age to 70, which is fine except our ageist society routinely forces people out of work in their 50s. Add to that most people can't afford to retire in their 50s and you potentially have a giant fucking crisis right there
I can't seem to get another job, today rejected again and yet I'm constantly told there are a lack of candidates for these positions. I don't even think it's that special a job, but I must really suck and feel truly stuffed!
Dropping this here without comment...
Farage: epic grifter
Oh I'm impressed either way. I'm slowly getting myself back into hardware. If I can keep this current job...may be able to buy a display and make use of the Pis I have lay around.
Today I learned that there's more to nut monitoring than just checking for almonds in the cereal.
Got some stuff to read this weekend!
