The Labour Party has proudly supported more women than ever into the House of Commons. Thanks to our history of positive action, plus quality training including the #JoCoxLeadership Scheme, at the last General Election, 190 @labouruk.bsky.social women were elected as MPs. Tories elected just 29.
This Labour Government is delivering for women and empowering women by halving violence against women and girls, closing the gender pay gap, strengthening women’s rights at work, reforming childcare and improving women’s health.
It was @labouruk.bsky.social that introduced landmark legislation like the Equal Pay Act and the Sex Discrimination Act, family allowances and maternity leave, and the right to request flexible working.

The result in Gorton and Denton is very disappointing. We will reflect, act & continue to learn lessons in the coming days & weeks. Today, I want to thank Angeliki Stogia for her energy & positivity over the campaign, the brilliant Labour staff & thousands of volunteers who worked their socks off.
