Good to meet women from across London at International Womenβs Day events organised by Labour colleagues in Parliament
This is quite the list of inspirational women from @the-independent.com for #IWD #InternationalWomensDay and Iβm proud to be included at number 20β¦

Reform UK would be a disaster for women. By scrapping the Employment Rights Act and abolishing the Equality Act, Reform would set womenβs rights back a generation.
This #IWD, May and beyond, tell Farage and friends to get their hands off our hard-fought rights. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...
The Labour Party has proudly supported more women than ever into the House of Commons. Thanks to our history of positive action, plus quality training including the #JoCoxLeadership Scheme, at the last General Election, 190 @labouruk.bsky.social women were elected as MPs.Β Tories elected just 29.
This Labour Government is delivering for women and empowering women by halving violence against women and girls, closing the gender pay gap, strengthening womenβs rights at work, reforming childcare and improving womenβs health.
It was @labouruk.bsky.social that introduced landmark legislation like the Equal Pay Act and the Sex Discrimination Act, family allowances and maternity leave, and the right to request flexible working.
Happy #InternationalWomensDay!Β

I am proud to be part of a @labouruk.bsky.social leadership team passionately committed to advancing womenβs equality, safety, agency and representation.Β

This thread outlines how far we have come, and what is at risk.
A great visit to The East Manchester Academy today.
Pupils quizzed me on the cost of living, the conflict in the Middle East, social media access as well as my own route into politics.
I also got to see the fantastic work pupils were doing to mark International Womenβs Day.
Delighted to be nominated as one of the 100 Women in Westminster #WiW100 by @politicshome.bsky.social @thehousemag.bsky.social.

The result in Gorton and Denton is very disappointing. We will reflect, act & continue to learn lessons in the coming days & weeks. Today, I want to thank Angeliki Stogia for her energy & positivity over the campaign, the brilliant Labour staff & thousands of volunteers who worked their socks off.
We are positive going into polling day because itβs only Labour that maintains support across both parts of the constituency.
Thatβs why we are the main contenders.
It's polling day!
Vote for Labour's fantastic candidate Angeliki Stogia.
Labour are the only party that can stop Reform.
Vote for unity and hope over division and hate.
Donβt look back in angerβ¦ on Friday. Only Labour can beat Reform. ππ»

Very concerning incident at Manchester Central Mosque. Thanks to the vigilance of volunteers and the action of police a more serious incident was avoided. Those responsible must face full force of the law.
We must root out Islamophobia and Muslim hate and all those who perpetrate it.
Loads and loads of teams out today in Gorton & Denton - hereβs a very small selection featuring colleagues.
Gordon Brown is spot on π
Making work and housing less secure is bowing down to vested interests not taking them on.
Only Labour can defeat Reform and their anti worker, anti renter policies in Gorton and Denton.
A must read from Angeliki in @theguardian.com as we nearly head to the polls in Gorton and Denton ππ»

The choice facing voters in Gorton and Denton; women breaking another glass ceiling; Manchester does the Brits; and how curling has got me hooked www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
Hereβs my reply to your letter yesterday Zack Polanski - a reply that took you three weeks to draft
Gorton & Denton is a constituency of two halves. After thousands and thousands of conversations, the story is clear: only Labour has the breadth & depth to beat Reform.
Voters are increasingly recognising that. See the whole picture π
Another big turnout from members and colleagues from across the country in Gorton and Denton yesterday.
Throughout the campaign in Gorton & Denton weβve been joined by colleagues from across the country. Today was no exception.
It might have been very cold but the reception isnβt!
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent.
Wishing everyone observing in Manchester and across the UK a peaceful time of reflection and renewal.
Wishing my constituents celebrating a peaceful Ramadan.
