I swing my axe. Blood splashes into my eyes. I should be more careful. I try again, this time mother’s head comes off cleanly. There’s no splashing. At least, none in my eyes. I can see now how I’m going to fit all of her body parts in the cupboard under the stairs. Neat.

With little option, I reach into my coat. The fleshy mutations consume me, turning my body into their own. I think of Lucy. My Lucy.

Gotta love the character trope of the Everyman who’s just sick of all this shit. Mostly says “oh come ON!” as another wave ensues. Prob closest I’ve written in that vein is Ronald Pile, the lowly council worker fighting bureaucracy and fleshy monsters in Wrath of the Land.
Of course Predator (and Predator 2)! That King Willie cut is legendary…

LOVE Dog Soldiers. Has one of the best Matrix references of all time.
