ALERT:
OR/SV/BL trains have to single-track @ Rosslyn due to earlier train 914 that is unable to hold brake pipe pressure.
Car maintenance personnel is on scene attempting to resolve the issue.

My pleasure! (It looks like I have some work to do when I get home as to why it hasn't come back up yet...)
Now you get to take the G to the R and transfer to the S, I guess? Tho not the 42nd Street Shuttle.
Best guess for that is because that's what the PIDS use/show for in-station train tracking.
(The two-letter line designations date back to 2012 when Rush+ was introduced.)

The comms folks that Sarah Meyer brought from NYCT are bringing their ideas to DC.
Good job, y'all, keep it up. #NoKings is busy enough you've got #WMATA station staff having to report crowding conditions back to the MICC.
Bottom line of the slide says they're working on it with Montgomery but nothing is finalized on that front yet
It would've been back by ~4am
FYI, friends using MetroAlerts - because of the bus network redesign, any bus alerts you previously were signed up for *no longer will alert you*. You need to go back to https://wmata.com/service/status/metroalerts.cfm and sign back up.

Almost the opposite; in-service buses on runs lost real-time tracking, headsigns, and audio announcements during the transition at midnight.
The source of the hydraulic fluid spill (detected from Mt. Vernon Sq to Fort Totten and also on the Red Line from Fort Totten to Brentwood Yard) is PM63, the broken-down track unit which #WMATA reported was @ Southern Ave. The unit was towed to Branch Ave rail yard.
At approximately 4am, #WMATA track crews began responding to a hydraulic fluid spill which was originally identified around Mt. Vernon Sq (YL/GR) on the southbound tracks. Crews walked the tracks and found fluid on the left rail from Gallery Pl up to Columbia Heights.
At system open (5a), GR/YL [โฆ]
#WMATA has a tweet here, but doesn't mention the Yellow/Green line impact.
Earlier delays on Green/Yellow lines appear to be due to a hydraulic fluid leak/spill which began on the Red Line but continued to Yellow/Green.
#WMATA
GR/Greenbelt train 523 is now offloading @ College Park. Train 525 holding behind will be single-tracking to Greenbelt via the opposite track.
#WMATA
Green Line: delays northbound to Greenbelt due to a train @ College Park whose doors were opened on the wrong side of the train.

Patience out there, friends! #WMATA headway & schedule adherence is in the toilet due to crowds downtown due to #CherryBlossoms
At approximately 6:12pm, Orange Line train 918 heading towards Vienna struck a metal object around East Falls Church. The metal appears to be fencing which may have been broken off by the wind.
Orange/Silver service remains suspended on either side of the station.

At 9:09pm, #DCFEMS responded to a woman shot at #Waterfront station.
All #WMATA MTPD radio is encrypted, so we have no insight into how the police agency responded.
A #WMATA de-icer train experienced an "undesired uncoupling" in New Carrollton Yard this afternoon .Two cars of the 6-car train separated from the rest of the train at appx 5pm. There are no known injuries, and no known impact to rail service.
#WMATA is single-tracking on the Silver Line Phase II this weekend to replace track clips (already?)

Happy #ATO restoration day on the Red Line, #WMATA. Most trains should be driven automatically, though some will remain human-driven.
#WMATA is restoring Automatic Train Operation (ATO) on the Red Line on Sunday, FWIW.
#WMATA rail crews just had to block off and isolate a railcar due to poop.
Sorry about that! https://dcmetrohero.net is back up for all your #WMATA Metrorail tracking needs.
(kernel + package updates applied :) )
FYI: https://dcmetrohero.net/ is going down briefly for server maintenance; will be back up soon! :)
