You can also put it right on the side of the house. That's where I had mine.
So keep your traces shorter than the rise times, and they won't become transmission lines. Also make sure you're thinking about where return paths are, and don't make a fast edge return go around a cut in a ground plane. Keep inductive area small.
I do not know of such a reference, and from what I can tell, no one else does either. "High frequency" is kind of a red herring - what you actually need to worry about are high rise/fall times. High frequencies obviously have those, but a 25 MHz square wave can have them too
