The significance of disentangling shared mating traits: A review of empirical approaches - Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology Sexual conflict has been shown to be widespread between males and females. In most cases, shared mating traits like copulation duration or sperm transfer speed are at the heart of such conflicts as th...

Happy 2026! I am glad to have ended 2025 one step closer to finishing my PhD.

Published the first chapter of my thesis where we talk about the importance and ways of studying sex-specific effects while investigating shared mating traits.

New Pre-print Alert ‼️ Fascinated by bird nests? Me too!!

Some birds add fresh green plants to their nests, even after laying eggs! 🌿 Could this behaviour have benefits?

Why do birds use green nest material? A systematic review and meta-analysis of experiments

In this study, led by @shreyadimri.bsky.social, we synthesize 28 experimental studies across 7 bird species to test whether green nest material truly boosts fitness.

New preprint on @ecoevorxiv.bsky.social : Why do birds bring fresh green plants to their nests? 🕊️

From courtship displays to parasite defense, many hypotheses have been proposed — but what does the evidence really say?

In our latest preprint, we showcase how to use a phylogenetic meta-analysis of variance to test evolutionary hypotheses across species.

We collected data for 172 birds (314 populations) to test patterns of stabilising selection and canalisation for wing length.
