I agree in spirit but I actually think it's come full circle.
Old internet looked ugly(, flattering) but had character. Later, designs started to have polish but still expressive. Now, they're back to being ugly(derogatory) because they're soulless and riddled with malware levels of ads & pop ups.
I enjoy 7 & 8 but Ethan was such a nothing burger ass character for me. Grace is so much more likeable & the VA performance is top notch.

RE9 somehow manages to perfectly blend my 3 faves in the series(RE1R, RE4/R & RE7) into a cohesive whole. This is a celebration of everything Resident Evil & had me either scared shitless or smiling ear-to-ear for 15 hours. Can't wait to replay.
Every Resident Evil has a nasty ass sewer section anyway 😂
