The Demon Tides OST is now finally up on Youtube!!
Again, the first one is still a fun watch for the first few times, and I'd imagine the new one will be too, but the bar should be so much higher.
The Mario series is generally known for its high quality, and that just isn't reflected in these movies.
Like we have Miyamoto himself framing the jarringly fast pacing as a good thing. That pacing in the first movie is why there's basically no story, instead feeling more like a checklist of Mario things to do or show.
And now this one is straight up advertising it.
The Mario movie is a fun watch on your first viewing if you're a Mario fan, because of all of the Mario things in it. The problem is that there isn't much else to it, so it only gets worse on later viewings. It's so shallow.
The new one looks like it's actually gonna be a lot worse, and that sucks.
I think I learned what a gay person was a bit younger, and my only thought was "Oh, okay."

Demon Tides is straight up incredible. It feels like someone studied my brain specifically and narrowed down to an absolute T what I want in a platformer, and executed that nearly flawlessly. I could not recommend this game enough.

I'm not particularly hyped about a potential HD rerelease. The old PC port with some mods is already very solid, but I'll still happily take it.
I'm more interested in what this could lead to. I've been wanting a sequel to Hit & Run for most of my life, so I'm gonna lose my mind if we get that.
I think they might actually be teasing a Simpsons Hit & Run rerelease, which is crazy because I just made a video where I said exactly that probably wasn't going to happen.

I think this graffiti feature is my favorite thing. It's like the Tingle bottles from Wind Waker HD, but better.
YouTube has spent so much time and money fighting ad blockers, which will never work. It's going to be an indefinite game of cat and mouse that they'll never win.
The best thing they can do to fight ad blockers is to just reel it back, but I know they'll never do that.
Ads have gotten so much worse on YouTube. They're so frequent, they always play right after you unpause, I constantly get gambling ads, and I've seen way too many sex chat bot ads on the homepage. Seeing underage characters like Mabel Pines in those are not uncommon either. They're so gross.
I really liked Demon Turf, but Demon Tides is actually incredible so far. It's too early to say obviously, but it's on track to being the best sequel I have ever played. This is everything I want in a 3D platformer.
I played two and a half hours of Demon Tides and I love it
