Would tie that to a funding cutoff for Trumpβs illegal war.
I talked to dozens of experts in government, academia, cybersecurity, and industry about exactly this scenario last year and not only did not one of them think I was being alarmist, many brought it up unprompted and many said there was zero chance it hadnβt already happened
Folks you don't have to celebrate St. Paddy's; you don't even have to pretend to.
St. Joseph's is 2 days later. I commend it to you especially if you:
--like good food
--are a father
--are a carpenter
--like the color red
--want to sell a big ticket item & need some help (bury St. Joseph)
I made a list of every swing seat in every state legislature that could flip red to blue (or vice versa) in November, with incumbents, challengers, 2024 margin, and more.
Also includes potential supermajority busters.

This problem was completely foreseeable before the war, by the way. It is a function of the geography of the Strait, and Iran has prepared to leverage it for decades. 3/4
In less than 1 week, Trump has wasted more than $5 BILLION of your taxpayer dollars on his war of choice on Iran.
That money could have covered the cost of SNAP for more than 2 million Americans for a year.
There's always money for war and never money for human needs.
Crude oil prices, showing a very sharp increase in the last day, from around 65 to 101 dollars per barrel..
Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy.
This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis.
44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.
On March 8, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Six male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed. @DeptofWar #OpSouthernSpear
Meanwhile, the slaughter at sea continues.
No telling what a military that engages in a months long killing spree outside the law might do.

For 2 decades, no one has wanted to address the incredibly stark divergence between
what research shows regarding drug traffic (networks)
& the conception policymakers and media rely upon to sell a "drug war" (kingpins).
"Addressing the regional leaders, he added, βWe need your help, you have to β just tell us where they are.β
One big problem being: drug traffickers are everywhere; highly networked and horizontally (more than vertically) integrated.

Fallout continues from one of the most appalling cases of scientific misconduct I've ever come across: journal retracts 138(!) case studies as fictional. (Incredibly, it may have to un-retract one that is not fake.)

New: Pentagon briefers acknowledged to congressional staff in a briefing Sunday that Iran was not planning to strike US forces or bases in the Middle East unless Israel attacked Iran first, multiple sources to @NatashaBertrand , @jmhansler & me. Why this matters: It undercuts Trump adminβs argument on Saturday that Iran was planning to potentially strike the US preemptively & posed an imminent threat:
No legal basis under either U.S. or international law to attack Iran.
No attack upon the U.S., nor imminent threat of one, nor any congressional authorization.
And the USG ought to be able to restrain the principal recipient of U.S. military assistance from provocations.
All utterly lawless.
Waiting for further reporting and additional facts.
But the gutting of CIVCAS mitigation efforts at DoD alongside the cowing of military lawyers is grim context for this news.

To reiterate: ships are not waiting because of the danger from Iran. They are waiting because they have been informed by their insurance companies (P&I club) that they need to purchase additional insurance. Once a ship owner has signed the additional insurance, ships will continue sailing through.
βacts of war unauthorized by Congress,"
the words of Republican Congressman Massie,
are the only words needed and the only words that should be said.
Can we please keep this history in mind, especially everyone breathlessly reporting on the current ramp up to and βrationalesβ for attacking Iran? There *was* a multinational, painstakingly negotiated deal. Candidate Trump trashed it, then in his 1st term he withdrew the US from it.
Many people might be skeptical of this claim based on its specificity, which might sound conspiratorial
but, having just published my new book on modern corporate power,
I agree w this entirely.

"When women win and are treated as an afterthought, the message reaches classrooms, workplaces and communities alike: You may help carry the nation, but you will not be centered in its story."
It's easy to confuse having the best goalie with having the best team, but here's a comment that lines up with my thinking:
"Canada dominated the final 40 minutes of regulation, outshot the USA 42-28, and if that game were played 100 times, Canada would probably win 95 of them."
My comment on hockey is this:
US women's team won their gold. Best team on the ice.
Separately, let me observe that there was about 3-5 yrs when the Czechs thought they had a world class soccer team,
but they really had one of the best goalies in the world (Δech) who did not crack under pressure.
