Weekend project: Was annoyed that getting my pool pump connected so I can remotely turn it on/off would cost me over $3000 plus labor so I said F it, using .NET and @platform.uno I can do that cheaper, better and with MQTT integration into @home-assistant.io

Use AI to run faster, but keep studying the "slow way" to ensure you are the one designing the future, not just executing its prompts.
Are we training a generation of creators, or just very efficient operators?
In Asimovβs story, the "rejects" (those who had to learn the slow way, via books and struggle) were actually the elite.
They were the only ones capable of creating the tapes that everyone else consumed.
My takeaway: Don't let the efficiency of AI atrophy your deep understanding.
If the next generation of engineers only knows how to prompt and not how to build from first principles:
Who will fix the AI when it hallucinates at a foundational level?
Who will write the original code that trains the next version?
Who will innovate beyond what the current data already knows?
As we use AI to generate code, write strategies, and solve problems, we are essentially "downloading the tape." Itβs fast. Itβs efficient. But it leads to a dangerous paradox:
If we all become "users" of the output, who will be left to improve the engine?
π€ The Scary Prophecy of Isaac Asimov is Coming True
Isaac Asimovβs 1957 story "Profession" is the ultimate warning for the Generative AI era.
In this future, knowledge is "downloaded" directly into people's brains. They become instant experts. They can only do what the "tape" told them to do.
