Probably yo-yos. Sometimes there's nothing to eat, but I always have yo-yos around.

βSuper Mario was based on an Italian man I saw die in an accident on a construction site. I thought to myself, βWhat if that man had been killed by a gorilla, rather than negligence?β - Shigeru Miyamoto
Happy Mario day!
Pokopia ad on the subway
Ditto-shaped ads hanging from the ceiling and a ditto on the side of the bench on the train
More pokopia ads in the same train car
The Hanzomon Line symbol with a ditto on it
On Pokopiaβs launch day I lucked into riding this particular subway line in Tokyo
This sounds like something @docpop.org should know about!
Honestly, I'd be surprised if they suddenly did figure out how communications should work
Reading this as I'm working on my Dragon Quest style dating game gives me hope
Alright, time to come up with this week's Godot dating sim milestones!
Last week was a short one because yo-yo events, but I did manage to randomize NPCs across three rounds of dates. This week, I want to make it so you can like suitors, have them randomly like you back, then choose a first date.
"It seems I was mistaken β the princess IS in another castle. I appreciate the correction, and I'll be more careful next time.
But your adventure isn't just about finding the princess β it's about the experiences you have along the way, clearing large gaps, kicking turtles, and touching flags."

They'd probably haul you in just for spelling it centre
They all just seem to have so much contempt for their own users. How can a team build a good product for a community they aren't interested in?
I still want to build the most incredible frontend for Godot that'll make a million things more intuitive and simple to understand, so if you meet a pro engineer down there who wants to team up on a project, wanna let me know?
I want to apply for the Bluesky product design role, but I have one thing going against me: the things I've said on Bluesky about the people I'd be working with
Speaking of the yo-yo contest, I just uploaded some antics I filmed the night before PNWR. Check out those lights! I'm so in love with my lens setup.
Also the yo-yoers, of course. That's the main point.

Fun story about this performance on Saturday: 26 years ago, I saw Reel Big Fish perform that very song on that very stage. Had to tell Tylor that after his freestyle, and he was super happy to hear it.
Also, I filmed all these, so I might share some more here.

A healthy community doesn't need a mascot. It just needs a solid foundation and good people who care about people.
To be fair, you could accept the role, do absolutely nothing, and still be a better CEO than Jay
Oh hey, there's me in one of those photos!
I have it on good authority that they'll let you in Yerba Buena if you show them one AI app and one gambling app installed on your phone
I love your hat!
Much slop. The system clearly needs to know about remote working or finances or something that only applies with California applicants. But since "Does this situation apply to this candidate?" requires a Yes or No, nobody thought to ask a normal question and translate the answer for their purposes.
Again, I'm more than happy doing a lot of work if it saves someone a little work. A lot of struggles in the software world come from people who would rather let thousands of people get confused by a clunky form like this one than simply ask "Do you live in California?" like a normal human.
A screenshot from a job application. The prompt says "Answer "No" if you live in the state of California" followed by Yes and No radio buttons.
I was just laughing at this job application I was struggling with, saying that my Zip Code was required when I'd clearly typed mine, and then realizing that field required 6 digits for some reason, and the very next application I come across has this as the last "question."
WHAT IS HAPPENING
Bernette from Seasonspree, a brown owl with kind of large, circular glasses
Others I would add if I had the energy to make a big collage: Lorelei, Lady Love Dies, Curly Brace, Elaine Marley, Hannah Smith, River Wyles, Zoe Muller, Claire, Alex, Nona, Bea, Dandara, Stella, Zia, Pinkyβ, and Sugar Plumps.
Also Bernette. Don't care that she's from my game. I love her.

Glory be to Dog.
an image is composed in which the capsule art of four games is embedded in a border that matches the green-and-orange branding of this day of the devs event. The games featured are Abigail (depicting a girl in a crafty handmade town), Escape Academy 2 (showing students outside a school), The Wide Open Sky Is Running Out Of Catfish (showing a person resting on the head of a large catfish as the sky above them is full of fish and an angelic-looking serpent), and Unshine Arcade (where it obviously used to say "sunshine" but the S has fallen off and an arcade cabinet behind the lettering looks sinister).
Here's just some of the great Yarn Spinner-powered games that you can check out at Day of the Devs starting RIGHT NOW! π

Having spent some time in Arizona, I thought I knew what dry and inhospitable felt like. But even that experience couldn't prepare me for how my sinuses and throat feel today.
I was thinking it must be a sprite, but they all looked so different. I don't think it could overlay multiple sprites, but yeah, randomly slicing a sprite into vertical chunks would probably be doable, and look distinct enough. Incredible how they dealt with those limitations back then.
