Bad news but you’re either an insufferable indie ttrpg nerd arguing about bullet points or you’re a funko-brained wotc-slop blorbo-loving consumer.

I could see an argument both ways for that. Wall of text? Eyes glaze. Bullets? Bite sized, digested, understood.

Personally, both have their place. Setting description? Paragraph. Room key? Bullets. Monster entry? Bullets of the stuff you need to run it then a para about their ecology.

They say you cannot fight city hall. But you can drag them on social media.

Can I shame #inglewood for basically saying "you may be waiting indefinitely for this public information because we will not provide a timeframe"?

Texas AG Ken Paxton has declared that it is illegal for mental health providers and therapists to treat trans youth. It means that trans youth will be denied access to any mental healthcare that isn't conversion therapy. Paxton also threatens parents of trans youth with child abuse investigations.

Looking for a way to make my faction locations feel alive but organic. Oh wait, encounter tables don't have to involve combat. Duh. And can still be measured in dungeon turns. Duh. Eg: that bad situation the PCs rolled and ignored will turn Awful in 2 turns. #ttrpg

That's a delicate balance to pull off well, the tension between simulating everything and usability. Seems the popular modern systems just reduce prone to "harder to hit with missiles, easier to hit with melee, movement penalty" as far as I can recall. Which loses that texture, yeah.

One of the players is doing a damn fine job playing a budding big bad evil guy, so yes, exactly that!

One of my favorite accidental #ttrpg creations was a one off item I didn't expect the party to use. A crayon that functioned like a wish spell, but could only be used by a child.

Players ran hard with it, now "conscript a child soldier" is one of their top priorities and has been for months.

There are times for whimsy! But read the room. Weirdly I started playing daggerheart and thought of him, seems like it'd be a good fit haha

Hell yes. Even after this disclaimer with a new player (friend of the existing players), he still wanted to roll up a battle stripper frog person named "legs ". We were playing an OSR game. I steered it to something reasonable, but he didn't return. No tears were shed.

That metaphor's spot on. The feeling of reading someone's diary is always uncomfortable, regardless of medium, in my experience.

Red flags with a customer? Don't do the work. Encounter something you aren't confident you can sort out? Don't do the work.

The immediate money isn't worth the risk of lost time, or worse, damaging the customer's property.

I am a handyman to pay the bills. And I can't stress enough that knowing when _not_ to do a job is almost as important as your skill doing the job.
