Natsuki: I rigged an antique edition of Moby Dick yesterday, so I’m sure I’ll catch a big one! Panel 3: Monika leans her chin on her hands. Monika: You think nerds like whales, huh? Natsuki: They’ll for anything for an allegorical cetacean! Panel 4: Cut to Yuri snared, hanging upside down from a tree with the book in her hand. Yuri: We’re kind of stupid that way.

Panel 1: Ms. Ida, teaching and a chalkboard, looks back over her shoulder Natsuki (from out of frame): Ms. Ida? Ida: Yes, Natsuki? Panel 2: Natsuki leaning back in her school desk, hands behind her head. Natsuki: you can present the material, but you can’t make me care. Panel 3: ms. Ida in an homage to the famous Misato frame where she’s sitting with her head in her hands over an open can of beer.

Panel 1: Natsuki walks up next to Sayori, who’s on her knees scribbling on the pavement. Natsuki: Whatcha doin’, Sayori? Sayori: Drawing on the sidewalk. Panel 2: Sayori offers Natsuki a piece of chalk. Natsuki: Wow! Can I too? Sayori: Sure! Here’s some chalk! Panel 3: Natsuki joins Sayori on the pavement and starts drawing Natsuki: Gosh! I’ve never been a vandal before! Sayori: It’s not vandalism! It washes right off! Panel 3: Natsuki gets up and tosses the chalk over her shoulder, clearly no longer interested.

Panel 1: Natsuki in winter clothes, down on all fours making a snowball. Natsuki: This is the finest snowball ever made! Panel 2: She holds up her work, admiring it. Natsuki: Painstakingly hand-crafted into a perfect sphere from a secret mixture of slush, ice, dirt, debris, and fine powder snow! This is the ultimate weapon! Yes, this marvel of crystalline engineering wi- Panel 3: Natsuki’s monologue is interrupted as she’s beaned with a snowball from behind. Panel 4: Yuri pensively packing another snowball of her own. Yuri: Another casualty of the seduction of art.

Sometimes I like to redraw Calvin and Hobbes strips with the DDLC cast. Natsuki, of course, standing in for Calvin and Yuri playing the role of Hobbes.
