FFS! I finally get to bed after a long 48 hrs of a&e, hospital visits, & no sleep; ready to luxuriate in having my bed to myself (a rarity), and then find there are FOUR spiders in my bedroom. So now I’m really paranoid about more appearing 😭

Climbed Helvellyn on Saturday - up Swirral Edge then down Striding Edge, contrary to everyone else. Absolutely brilliant day out, a bit of a challenge but really fun. Proud of myself ❤️🔥

A skein of salmon pink yarn lies on the pretty flowery paper it came to me wrapped in. Eden Cottage Keld Twist in colourway Dianthus, a lovely rich salmon pink. Keld has a little bit of linen in the mix, which gives it a slightly marled appearance. Still haven't decided what this will become.

I can only walk roughly a mile at the moment and am trying to make the most of it. So today took the opportunity to do hill reps on the only hill for miles around. 🥵
It only added up to about 120m but it’s better than nothing! 💪

A handmade mug which is cream with tiny black splatter spots, and then has larger dark blue spots painted on. It has text in a typewriter style font which says knit happens.
I’ve been photographing yarn today: superwash extrafine merino/linen 4ply. It looks rustic but feels super-soft 😍
Am going to get more tea (see mug pic) and go add it all to the website, then reward myself with a new cast on 😁

I’m going to have to get a crochet mug too as I always have one of each on the go and I can’t use the knit mug whilst I’m crocheting - that would be sacrilege 😅
We’ve had a great day at Spring Into Wool today, despite me suffering with my back (so that says a lot about how nice it was!). 😍
Selfie of me wearing a handknit hat which has a houndstooth colourwork pattern to it. It looks like lots of little squares but on each side in the left corner there’s a little bump.
Holding the hat in the sunlight so that the contrasting colours stand out. The main colour is natural cream and the contrast colour is a darkish but soft pink.
Finished! Really enjoyed making this - ideal project to distract me from pain but not be too complicated to concentrate on, and really chuffed with the finished object. 😍

Back still sore but managed to pack up my hand dyed yarn yesterday ready for Spring Into Wool. This is the box of fluffy Lowther Lace - the softest baby alpaca/silk 😍
A partially made hat which is cream with a darkish pink houndstooth pattern knitted into it.
The same hat again but from a slightly different angle so you can see that the contrast between the colours is good.
#WIPWednesday - Rokeby Hat (pattern by me) in Milburn 4ply (BFL/silk -one of my yarns). I’d forgotten how enjoyable this colourwork is to make! It flows so nicely. Onto the crown decreases next. 😍
