I have done 20 of the things on this list and have so far managed to avoid becoming a fascist. You can too!

Our kid had a Lego robotics tournament at 7:15 this mornning a 30-minute drive from our house. It lasted until 2pm and I feel like I'm going to start crying.
An island of sanity in an ocean of insanity. Felt good to spend some time there. Proud to be an WFMU swag-for-lifer.
Great stuff as always. Had to check the line in Seeing Other People b/c I remembered it differently. Online sites say girls "know where to put it," but the lyrics in the CD booklet say they "know what they're doing." We live in weird times...
I completely agree with that title and can't wait to read the piece
The burger in that Applebee's ad looks like if diarrhea could stand up and walk
Xmas present to myself. Spotted in the wild at Record Grouch in Greenpoint Brooklyn
They cheer because the movie is finally over. Love the original though.
Sir, I think Ron may be guilty of a rare mistranscription. Surely this was your intended message?
This lifetime holiday movie I'm watching may be the greatest piece of avant-garde art the 21st century has produced
Always heard the name but never encountered their stuff in the wild. This got me to a) go listen and b) immediately buy the d/l on Bandcamp. Thanks.
Still probably the best/most representative/beautiful/horrifying/emblematic piece of art to have been made so far in this our 21st century of the west. The retch of a dying soulless culture desperate to finish exhausting itself so it can start a new life unencumbered by the weight of history.

I remember reading this when it came out. My favorite piece of yours, and so good that I already know the new movie is a waste of my time.
The very first name he mentioned in his victory speech was Eugene Debs. The man knows his history, and he doesn't seem to be afraid of anything or anyone.
My 2003 Sox fandom suddenly feeling relevant
Can't imagine what it feels like to be a Jays or Dodgers fan right now. And I say that as a Red Sox fan who lived through the 2003-2004 seasons.
Great essay--even the parts I don't fully agree with. But I can't believe Jason didn't notice the last two words of the museum's manifesto are also title of a memoir written by the most famous fascist dictator in history (so far).
They are terrified of the No Kings rallies and doing everything they can to discredit them.
If you're on the fence about going, just think of how much it'll piss off these assholes.
Yep. Agree as someone who's both edited and been edited. A good editor feels physical pain at the mistake you're about to make. Take them seriously and work to find a solution that makes both of you happy.
Bill Belichick has more to do with King Lear and Greek tragedy these days than actual football.
They're locking them up today/ they're throwing away the key / I wonder who it will be tomorrow /you or me?
Amateurs. The best books to steal are the thin computer manuals that go for like $50-$75 bucks. Take them from a corporate chain store then return them to a different chain store for store credit.
Lived in Tecate Mexico for a couple years just across the border and there was nothing more relaxing than listening to the Padres radio broadcast in Spanish.
Like this one so much I'm almost tempted to crosspost it on the fascist one too:

Yankees suck turned out to be an understatement
People using social media, a thing that is almost entirely performative, to mock reading books in public for being performative is a thick, flavorless kind of irony.
