I used to draw characters playing instruments long ago and I thought could try drawing that again. And that idea coincided with my wanting to draw an American badger 🦡🎸

They're really striking, for sure. We've recently been getting Northern Flickers around here as well, which have a similar thing going but with a bit more color.

Saw a red-bellied woodpecker this morning and felt like making a character. I wanted clothes that evoked the B&W feather pattern, but I may think of a better solution than the striped suit jacket. #furryart

Just a quick sketch of Howard, down in the coffee shop poetry slam.

Finished! I left the lineart quite sketchy as it had this fun and loose energy.

Same photo as parent post but with more of the pencil lines inked and some extra hatching.

I do like it a bit better with more ink. Kind of went ham on the poor tree though.
