I drove half way across the country to visit an ancient cairn and also went to this forest in Meath. The fog followed me there and I walked this forest path in the first light of the day.

A huge chonk of a fluffy cat sitting on a table near an open fire. The cat is cream and grey and appears to be shaped like a barrel in a fur coat. They are scowling fiercely with their moustache and bewhiskered ears apparently flowing back into the cold wind. There's a definite vibe that this villainous cat twirls their moustache as they evict orphans into the aforementioned blizzard and think Scrooge was an easy-going lightweight. They are magnificent.

I found a 19th century Cat Villain!

Four birds line up in a row, all facing left at nearly identical angles, on the crest of a small, light-colored sand dune. Wisps of dead beach grass emerge from under the sand along the top of the dune. The least sandpipers have bright white bellies, mottled brown and white chests, and mostly light and dark brown heads and backs.

A threatening and creepy tree I don't like at all, which speaks out of its bellybutton and is advancing towards me in tiny tree steps which it thinks I haven't noticed, and repeatedly asking me why I will not "Come inside where it is warm, for a nice treat."

New photographs from my recent Yellowstone workshop are now available! I had a blast co-leading this workshop with Kathy Lichtendahl for Muench Workshops - we explored so many amazing locations and really got lucky with frosty and foggy conditions. It was a real treat to say the least!
