@virtualflybrain
VFB makes exploring Drosophila neuroanatomy easy: Find brain regions, neurons, transgenes, connectomes, scRNAseq, phenotypes & papers in a few simple clicks. Join us on GitHub to help https://github.com/VirtualFlyBrain/VFB2 https://virtualflybrain.org
We are grateful to the Wellcome Trust for their continued funding of VFB.
Because of recent NIH impediments to international collaboration, FlyBase has divided forces:
- European labs can contribute via (www.philanthropy.cam.ac.uk/give-to-camb...), where you can also request to make a donation from a grant.
- the FlyBase U.S. fee system will be set up soon.
VFB works closely with the FlyBase team and we rely on their hard work to provide many of our features. Due to the current funding situation at FlyBase (flybase.org), we encourage our users to donate and help maintain this essential resource.
๐ง VFB just expanded NBLAST similarity scores to include male-CNS optic lobe & FAFB-FlyWire datasets! Now easier to find morphologically similar neurons across connectomes & identify potential split-GAL4 drivers. Big win for #neuroscience #flyresearch ๐ฌ

Happy #FluorescenceFriday!
Nominations are open (until Dec 13) for the Larry Sandler Award, presented each year to an outstanding recent graduate who has completed a PhD in an area of Drosophila research. They'll present the Larry Sandler Memorial Lecture at the conference's opening session.
